Now I looked around for something dealing with this but I never found anything. Don't crucify me if there is another thread dealing with this but I just wanted to discuss this. Does anyone else think that singing the second and third harmonies that supplement the main vocal track will be difficult?

Personally, I think it will be very hard, especially for the casual listener/gamer. Its hard enough when there are sections in SOAD songs where the more buried vocal track is used, I can't even imagine singing a whole song where I have to do such a thing. People sing what they are most familiar most and I think many will struggle with this multiple harmony thing.

In the past, most of us have relied on just using what it songs like in the song to guide our vocals. The buried harmonies will make it extremely hard to do on a sight read and just as hard as time goes by. Not everyone has a musically trained ear that can pick up on the other harmonies.

Although, even though I believe it will be difficult to sing these harmonies, I still love the idea. I have always wanted to be able to sing the harmonies to other songs in Rock Band, and this will more than fulfill my wishes.

I expect to receive heavy criticism for this and I honestly believe that I have been led astray by something, because I have never seen anyone else discussing this. Keep in mind this is one man's opinion, so don't go overboard if you decide to go against my viewpoint.

If Gimme Shelter is any indication I'm going to fail at it miserably.

Stuff like Gimme Shelter is hard, where you hear one thing, but you're actually singing something else. If that's what you're getting at, then yeah, I think that will be pretty tough.

I think I'm gonna hate the drums in the game though. Most of the songs on drums sound like all of the songs by The Ramones. It's just restless ride, crash, and hi-hat. I hate that stuff.

I've played SingStar and I STRUGGLED with harmony.

But we get a harmony trainer with Beatles!

But we get a harmony trainer with Beatles!

Is that actually a feature or are you just saying that you will improve after playing it. Because I honestly think that there should be some way to hear the harmonies seperated from the rest to get a hang of them.

I think that the harmonies are going to be hard and awesome. It will be easier to do harmonies when you have more than one vocalist present with you. It's hard to explain but it's seems easier to harmonize to another person next to you than a pitch coming from the game

This. If one person's next to you singing the lead vox, you know what NOT to sing :p

Oh you'd better believe I'll become a bassist just to be able to lay claim to voxbass(?)-ing Paul's parts. I've sang in choirs for years, so harmony won't be the hard part for me...it'll be finding 2 other people that want to sing (and enough spaces for all those mic stands b/c 6 people in my apartment's living room would be entirely too many.

What's gonna be a b*itch is voxtaring. This is *really* the way the game should be played, if you want to be authentic....your guitar and bass players should be voxtaring the whole time (and I'm really kinda heartbroken that they didn't take the opportunity to create a rhythm guitar track....that would've made it a *complete* Beatles experience. Poor John gets left out....:( )

I wonder if you can do Harmonies online, with three different vocalists in 3 different places?

Oh, and BTW, this game officially triumphs over Guitar Hero because it just maxed out its player count at 6.

anybody know how the three mics are gonna work? Does the bundle come with some kind of special splitter? Will the game score 7 different players or do the harmony tracks get scored with the guitar/bass? I wasn't planning on buying the bundle, but I'm wondering what hardware will be needed to do the harmonies.

I imagine singing 3 parts at the same time will be difficult, but give me a week and I'll figure it out.

...

Yeah, I can sing 3-part harmonies by myself. Got a problem with that?

Since you'll be playing AS one of the Beatles, I wonder if your singing part will have to match the real song... in other words, if you are playing as George, would you be singing lead on the George songs and harmony on the others?

The Steelers.

Super Bowls yes, but there were championships before then. The Packers have 9 before then and 3 super bowls, total of 12, beating out the Steelers overall. If its coming from a guy named Packerfan, you can bet that it is fairly accurate:p

Yeah, that has me worried, too. Not that I want everything to be crazy difficult, but I prefer variety. So far the Beatles previews look like the monotony of AC/DC, only easier.

I'm interested in the vocal harmony stuff, though.

Ringo isn't amazing, but he is not as boring as the AC/DC guy... I mean, stuff like Strawberry fields, day in the life and rain include very neat drumming.

Thank you HMX for making what looks like it's going to be my favorite game of all time!!!:D

His one and only drum solo, The End, anyone?

So simple yet very melodic.

I think the highest harmony will be really easy (I find myself singing that in most Beatles songs anyway), as well as the lead track. But the third track? Will likely need that vocal practice mode! :o

I find that when not singing, the hardest part would be the unique drum techniques.

There should be an expert mode where once you have mastered the harmonies you have to be able to sing them with the sound of 50,000 teenage girls screaming in your ears at full volume. :D

LMAO. The game actually includes a "Realistic mode", where the sound of the crowd is totally maxed out.

I was pointing out something RELATED to the topic. I.e. "Hardest part of TB:RB"

One of them is...playing it with the Realistic Mode turned on.

Anyway, now that we all have the game, has anybody actually found the harmonies ridiculously difficult?

I can do pretty much every song on Expert Vox, but harmonies kill me. I can do them comfortably on Medium and sort-of comfortably on Hard, but I just can't sing harmony on Expert.

Harmonies on Expert kick my a$$. Well, most of them, anyway.
I do an ok job on Hard, but Expert is so precise, it's laughing at me in my face.

I sincerely doubt anyone has got the triple fab achievement legitimately. I know people have been recording themselves or even recording the guide note to play along while they sing lead to get the achievement. I couldn't find any video of 3 guys doing it on Youtube when I looked just now.

Being able to do all 3 parts seperately is one thing finding 2 friends that can do it and coordinating with them is another.
