Using Guitar Hero 3 Guitar for the PS3

Does anybody know if I can buy Guitar Hero 3 and use the guitar that comes with it for the PS3 version of Rockband?

Not at the current moment. A patch is pending which is likely to fix this issue.

On the case of the game it clearly says Rock Band is compatible with most music game controllers. However, everyone i speak to tells me it won't work. Did anybody actually try a PS3 Guitar Hero 3 Guitar? And what type of problems did you run into?

The guitar hero guitar works on rock band, as a controller. it will let you cycle thru the menu's but it acts like you are the singer, not a guitarist.

This has been a HUGE issue on these forums. No, the PS3 verson of the GH3 controller does not work with rock band. The whole story is that HMX came out and said that they were looking into it, then they came out and said that they had a patch, but then it never came out. There are now rumors that Activision has stopped the patch with their lawyers because they don't want the GH3 controller to work for any other game.
I really don't mean this to be offensive, but how did you guys not notice this already? Just look up "PS3 compatibility" and go from there.
