Why is "A Hard Day's Night" green?
From the cinematic trailer.

I made an assumption... I mean really, if that's the Intro Cinematic to the game, how can those 2 songs not be in the game. It'd be like the RB2 Intro Cinematic with Hello There, and yet Hello There isn't in the actual game... I mean, I just hope I'm not wrong cause those are 2 must need songs!

A few songs that garnered musical appearances in the intro video (most of these are fairly minor):
- Can't Buy Me Love (apparently heard very briefly in the opening shot of the rooftops - personally I'm doubtful if it is or not)
- Twist And Shout (the last few seconds of the song is played by The Beatles in the Cavern Club)
- Within You Without You (the hand drums used in that song are heard under Here Comes The Sun when The Beatles are on the escalator to space)
- A Day In The Life (the ending chord is heard as the elephant thing approaches the cliff).
Use it at your own discretion as they are relatively minor/obscure uses (certainly not as prominent as A Hard Day's Night and Paperback Writer were). While they haven't been confirmed yet, I would be stunned if the main setlist didn't include Can't Buy Me Love, Twist And Shout and A Day In The Life, though.

If you pause the intro at the bit at the start with the wall and posters, i'm sure there's a few more song titles hidden in there.
Definitely see Come Together and Maggie mae there.
Could be actual tracks in the game...

Maggie Mae's too short to be in the game (they even left it off "Let it Be... Naked")! :D
Very nicely formatted list. Keep up the excellent work! I can't wait for this game. Here's to hoping for full album downloads for all albums eventually.

Among the less famous songs I hope Think For Yourself ends up in the final product, I love the Fuzz Bass sound and that would be fun to play.

Although we haven't had a track with no drum part or anything like that, we've come very, very close. Polly (Nirvana) literary has a few cymbal crashes. HMX evidentally is ok with releasing stuff like that.

Okay, possible stupid question.
In RB2, when you download a song without vocals, like YYZ, why do you have to back out and get rid of your singer before you can play the song? Can't the singer just sit there?
I hope they fix this in B:RB!

How about THE END as the final song? :)
I do hope it is the final song, but I was really hoping to have 3 dueling guitars. HMX can you please make a Guitar Duel out of The End some how???
PS. And by this I mean to express my slight disappointment at the lack of rhythm guitar in addition to lead guitar. Especially with those sweet replica instruments in the Hofner, the Rickenbacker and the Gresch... What are we supposed to do with them all!? The awesomeness of everything else shown made up for it though..

Back when YYZ was released. HMXSean told us the singer had to back out due to a limitation in the Rock Band engine.
Perhaps this explains why HMX decided to build up the TB:RB engine from the ground-up.
I missed the cinematic the first time. Now that I've seen it... holy acid trip.

The tabla from Within You Without You that plays during Here Comes the Sun is mixed that way on the LOVE album. Kinda surprising that they used that, but it is just the intro.

The Disc only contains songs between 62-69, so no "Real Love" or "Free as a Bird" on the disc.
I'm really hoping for DLC though.

Very cool idea, thanks for doing this.
One thing though, you mark all the songs on Abbey Road (minus the two announced ones) as DLC, but it's possible a couple more of those could end up on the disc. Not a big deal, just a thought.

Yeah, all of the marketing material for the game seems to indicate nothing from the Anthologies, although I'm sort of surprised they didn't push for Free As a Bird. Real Love is meh (the pure Lennon version on Working Class Hero is far better), but I would love for Free As a Bird to be DLC.

I really hope that they changed this for TBRB, so that we won't have to entirely back out to play a couple of songs (especially with the Abbey Road album as DLC).
Also nice list. Definitely keep it up. It is great to see how these things shake up when we get more songs added.

How about THE END as the final song? :)I'm hoping the game is chronological, and if so, that should mean Get Back as the finale.
Also, it needs to be the album version.
"... I hope we passed the audition"

Great job organizing this.
I'm wondering if they'll count Past Masters Vol 1 and 2 (which collect all the non-album singles and B-sides) as albums. I'm also wondering if they'll use the Let It Be....Naked song versions and track orders.
I expect that the next batch of songs announced will include songs off of Help, Rubber Soul, and Sgt Pepper, since we don't have any from those.
I also agree that "Rain" would be an excellent song for this game.

"Chronological" is a bit weird for the Beatles. Let It Be was the last album released but Abbey Road was the last album they recorded. Since it was the last thing they recorded together (aside from the Anthology stuff), I like to think of "The End" as their last song. I'm sure the game will go by release date though especially since the Let It Be rooftop concert is appealing as a last act.

For some reason that little joke by John is always so bitter-sweetly sad for me... the end of The Beatles so to speak.
A good way to end it though, on a joke, considering their beginnings.

.
Think there is a 99% chance of this, as they are re-releasing this as a double disk volume as part of the re-masters this year.
Hope they do as it includes the best version of Revolution, and will be a way of quickly mopping up the stand-alone single releases.
Just hope that they do not release DLC as full album only - there's some stuff in there that was awful.

I assume they won't use the "Naked" versions as this game contains material from the original albums, and no one considers "Naked" the current version of the album; it's a remake/remix album.
I'm glad we haven't seen "Rubber Soul" or "Sgt. Pepper" yet; they might just be saving the best for last. Same with more songs from "The Beatles"; "Back in the U.S.S.R." looked fantastic (though it'd be cool if Paul were on drums for that!).
There's still plenty of surprises left, I'll bet. :)

As long as we are talking about Past Masters Vol 1 & 2, could we add Komm, gib mir deine Hand, and Sie liebt dich to this list?

Hopefully, every song gets released.
I think that "Eight Days A Week" and "Drive My Car" are shoe-ins for the game. I think every album will have at least one song in the game, and those stand out as disc choices.

Do you think there will be a song from each album?
I think the albums in greatest question are Beatles for Sale and With the Beatles. I think Beatles for Sale is a highly underrated album (didn't make RS500), even though it features great songs like Baby's In Black, I'm a Loser, I'll Follow the Sun, Eight Days A Week, What You're Doing. I think one of those will make the game (Eight Days a Week the biggest hit).
With the Beatles is a little more worrisome. But I could definitely see All My Loving making the game, I love the "oooo ooooo ooo's".

MisterSchulz
06-12-2009, 12:22 AM
yea... i suppose technically it is, but it's a rather weak one... They are mostly in the Studio, with the occasional colors and "USSR" in the background. Nothing like Octopus' Garden, I am the Walrus, and Here Comes the Sun, which by the way, also start in the Studio if i'm not mistaken. So yea.. I guess it is a Dreamscape

By the way, Back In the Ussr is a little different than on the original recording at the beginning and at the end of the song. The original lyrics end at "let me tell you honey" while on the game it continues and McCartney repeats "Back in the USSR..." We also hear the "1,2,3,4" before the song starts.

I updated with the new songs from the 2nd Trailer. Can't complain about the selection. They have one of my most wanted songs (Revolution), a bunch of hits. Within You Without You isn't my favorite song, but damn, does that dreamscape look awesome or what? Same with Revolution. I hope they release trailers to announce all the rest of the songs.

Yea, you know, I'm gonna change it up. I think Love deserves its own section really... I'm surprised they went with a Love remix song. I guess Giles is running the show, but still. You'd think they'd stick with The Beatles original visions.

Wow MORE SONGS!? Awesome! Updated. I really can't complain, except for Do You Want To Know A Secret... and the lack of songs from Help! and Rubber Soul (I know they will come though). It just seems like a weird selection with Secret, knowing that it will be one of the 45 songs, bumping out a much more deserving song. I'm all for lesser known album tracks, but give me something like I've Just Seen A Face, or I Should Have Known Better, I'm A Loser.
That's half of the disc setlist already, 19 more songs remaining. Where are they going with Help! and Rubber Soul, 2 of their best albums??

So it appears the Sgt. Pepper/With A Little Help plays as 1 song in the game, according to this Wired article (http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2009/07/beatles-rock-band-2/):
One of the new songs that we played was “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band/With a Little Help From My Friends.” Yes, that’s right: it’s a medley of the two tracks. Harmonix said you can’t sing them separately, which I think is a misstep: I can see a lot of people wanting to sing “With A Little Help,” which is a mellow, laid-back song, without first having to scream their way through the ungodly high parts of “Sgt. Pepper.”
It remains to be seen whether HMX counts this as 1 song or 2 songs in their total count of 45 songs in the game. For now, we'll leave it as 2, since really, they are 2 songs. It's like counting the Abbey Road medley as 1 song, when it really is what, 3 or 4.

It's like counting the Abbey Road medley as 1 song, when it really is what, 3 or 4.
The 2nd side is actually 10 songs (11 with Her Majesty). However, they said the 2nd side is the medley, but that doesn't seem right since Here Comes The Sun is on disc. It probably starts with You Never Give Me Your Money, so 8 songs (9 with Her Majesty).

I wonder what other Venues they are going to announce, since it does say on the website "And more..." They've announced most of the iconic ones, haven't they.
Also, does anyone else think Got To Get You Into My Life is a sure bet for on-disc selection? Since it was the song that Paul played at Coachella when he debuted the Beatles: RB footage? I'm not for certain the the footage matched the song at all, but I'm hoping. That would be a fun one.

I feel like 0 songs is just a coincidence.. there will be a Rubber Soul song on the disc without a doubt. Leaving one of their albums without representation on the disc would be just wrong (especially Rubber Soul...)
The thing is, what song do we expect from Rubber Soul though? It actually doesn't have any of the "number ones". I think Drive My Car has got to be it, based instrumentation and popularity. I would love to see I'm Looking Through You or What Goes On though.. And of course In My Life, just so I could sing it!

I could easily see Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Revolver, and even the White Album coming out as full album DLC before Rubber Soul.
and why is that? There are songs on all of those that lack almost all instrumentation except Rubber Soul. And just because "Because" is in the Abbey Road dlc doesn't mean they'll always scrap the full-band setup for artistic integrity. Do you seriously see Piggies, the original Within You Without You, She's Leaving Home, and Eleanor Rigby in before tracks like Nowhere Man, Think For Yourself, If I Needed Someone and In My Life?
Dr._Frasier_Crane
08-08-2009, 02:22 AM
I would expect (and hope) that the DLC will be balanced between early and later material. For example, if theoretically every album were to come out, a schedule like this:
Abbey Road
Help!
Sgt. Pepper
Rubber Soul
A Hard Day's Night
The White Album
etc.
And in between albums, maybe packs of singles/ b-sides/ EP songs, etc.
To me, this would be a perfect scenario.
(And before someone replies, "but HMX just said they're not releasing the whole catalog" I just think that they're being careful not to get people's hopes up. As long as it is possible and sales are decent enough, I think that over time most of the material will be released. They just don't want to guarantee something that's not a definite yet, and end up with another Who's Next situation)

But you're comparing the most Rock Band-y songs from RS against the least Rock Band-y songs from the others. I can easily turn it around: Girl, Norwegian Wood, and Michelle are pretty ill-suited for the game compared to Everybody's Got Something to Hide..., She Said She Said, and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Etc.
I think Dr. Crane is right, and I'd expect Help! or HDN next after Abbey Road.
Incidentally, I'm expecting "What Goes On" from RS, since it's Ringo's first writing credit and I think he needs another tour-era song.

The cool thing about Rubber Soul to me is that it's oddly minimalist; it has a bunch of songs like "Michelle", "Norwegian Wood", and "Girl" that actually have less instruments on them than most previous songs. An interesting prelude to the wild instrumental exploration to follow.
However, it does present an awkward situation for Rock Band, since these songs don't have parts for all the players.

I think the Hey Bulldog mention was still too vague to really positively confirm it. The mention came from a "Beatles fan" that they also had on the interview, who just said he was excited to play it. Who knows where he got his information; at least Radosh had interviewed HMX and played the game.

It'll be interesting to see where Drive My Car and If I Needed Someone are played: Shea Stadium or Budokan.
I'm Looking Through You, also from Rubber Soul, is at Shea, so you would think they'd all be at Shea. That would bump the number of songs at Shea to 6, with Budokan most likely left at 4. I don't see any of the remaining Unknown's being played there.
I see Don't Let Me Down going to Rooftop, and Boys to Cavern Club. So:
Cavern: 4
Ed Sullivan: 4
Shea: 6
Budokan: 4
Rooftop: 5
23 Live venues/songs accounted for
11 already known Dreamscapes, with 10 unknowns that are highly likely Dreamscapes. That doesn't add up to the 20 Dreamscapes/25 Live (if that is indeed true)
Is that 20/25 ratio really true? I just don't know which Unknown would be shifted over to a Live venue. But if I had to guess, I'd go with Hello Goodbye, Hey Bulldog, or Dear Prudence.
Does that mean the last remaining surprise song is a Live one?

It'll be interesting to see where Drive My Car and If I Needed Someone are played: Shea Stadium or Budokan.
I'm Looking Through You, also from Rubber Soul, is at Shea, so you would think they'd all be at Shea. That would bump the number of songs at Shea to 6, with Budokan most likely left at 4. I don't see any of the remaining Unknown's being played there.
My guess is that 1 of them will be at Shea Stadium and the other at Budokan, since "Day Tripper" is also from the RUBBER SOUL sessions and is at Budokan. This would also even out the numbers in the live setlists more.

You're right. They actually played If I Needed Someone at Budokan, so it's almost guaranteed it'll go there.

I'm pretty sure every song during the Sgt. Pepper's - Abbey Road era would be dreamscape songs.

I'm guessing no Eric Clapton cameo for While my Guitar Gently Weeps? If only....

I havent read the entire thread but I'm positive that Don't let me down will be at the rooftop concert (because it was on the real one)

Is it really confirmed that we'll get ALL of these albums? because stuff like She's Leaving Home just isn't RB material.

The NYT article said that Rubber Soul and Sgt peppers were coming as albums, yes

The third trailer has confirmation that A Hard's Day Night is at Ed Sullivan, Drive my Car is at ... um ... uh, I think the Budokan (dammit, I forget now), Dear Prudence, Lucy, Helter Skelter, While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Come Together are all dreamscapes, and Don't Let Me Down is Rooftop.

You can sing it though and that's good enough for me.
I have a feeling they will chart violin to guitar and cello to bass, just so almost everyone can get involved.

I bet Get Back is the final song. Or, if they want to go there, Real Love/Free As a Bird.
Get Back is ALREADY IN THE GAME.

ooo, 2 of the Rubber Soul's went to Shea, and I definitely did not see I Want You as the song that would move over to a live Venue (Rooftop). Funny cause I voted for I Want You as the dreamscape I'd most like to see, just to see what they'd with it. Guess they bypassed that whole issue.
Well it looks like the 20/25 ratio was true. Dreamscapes are at 20 right now, is the final song a Live one??

I don't think we know for sure what the order of the songs are going to be yet. Probably won't know until the game is out, I reckon, unless HMX specifically reveals it.

One Rubber Soul track is at Budokan (Drive My Car), the other 2 are at Shea.
It'll be interesting to see how the Full Album DLC works when the rest of it comes out and you play the album in its entirety. Like what if you choose Play All (for Rubber Soul), will it switch venues in between or something?
