Static Vocal Style

I've looked and searched and Googled, but I can't find the answet to this. What does the 'Static Vocal Style' toggle do in the vocalist's pause menu (on the 360, if it matters)? I'm sure its no big deal, but curiosity is killing me!

I'm pretty sure it restricts you to one octave.

Instead of the words running right to left, they are static on the screen one phrase at a time and the line of when you are supposed to sing runs from left to right across the words.

Think Singstar, and that's pretty much what it's like.

It changes the side scrolling words to a more Karaoke like static setup where the timeline scrolls and the words stand still.

I actually prefer this setup. It's easier for me to sing songs I don't know very well because the words aren't broken up like... bro-------- ken---------

I think it is kind of limited though. I have only been able to use it to it's full capabilities in solo mode. In multiplayer mode it only shows the words and not the pitch map.
