So I've decided to skip Dead on Arrival for now (the drummer for Fall Out Boy is either really good or has epilepsy), but now I've run into the headache that is Train Kept a Rollin'. I can do everything else in that song just fine, but when that damn drumroll section comes up, I just can't keep up. Do you guys have strategies for hitting those really fast notes?

Loose grip on the sticks held between forefinger and thumb. Turn ur wrist over so it bends the correct way and use your fingers underneath the sticks to give them the double bounce. It should be a combo of your wrist and fingers making the roll, not your arms. Drummers are by far the most active member of the band and must conserve energy to last the whole set and using wrist and fingers is less active than arms. OR were just lazy..u make the call.

ps.. Fallout Boy sux my left one... whiny little high school punks. Play some real music like most of the other classic rock.

this is one of the only times I'll actually say this but..go to practice. SLow the tempo way down and practice using both hands. DO it at one speed until you're basically acing it and then move up 10-20% and do it again. If you can't get it, go down in speed again and keep at it.

That will really help with the drum rolls.

Good advice for the drum roll, but why does everyone feel the need to bash Fall Out Boy in this game? The song is fun to play no matter which instrument(or vocals) you choose. Alot more fun in my opinion than some of the others on here, especially the crown jewel Green Grass and High Tides. For whatever reason Fall Out Boy gets bashed all the time for being "emo", but listen to their cds and they're actually a pretty decent band, especially compared to a lot of the other garbage that's put out on the radio these days. I can already feel the flames coming.

I CANNOT stand Fallout Boy. Some people label it emo or ****(whatever that is)but I have to agree the track on RB is one of my favorite to play. It's probably the only FB track I can bear to listen to.

As far as just listening goes

Fall out boy > Everything else in rock band

I don't find DOA much fun in the game though but I also don't like old FOB songs as much either

I'm not FOB fan but where did you even hear that?

The problem is....sometimes no matter how much practice you put in eventually you'll hit a wall because of bad technique. Not that this won't happen in any of the songs on the RB list, but if you were an 'all arms no wrists or fingers' type drummer, you're not going to be able to do anything significantly fast unless you improve your technique...(plus it's just gawd aweful to watch you drum :) ) That's why I really waiting to watch some YouTube subperb drummers play RB so I can learn from their approach during the Overdrive sections and/or the big rock endings.

The more I learn out Drums and Drumming(wasn't that a magazine long ago) the more I realize just how much more I need to learn...quite depressing at times. :)

I defended Fall Out Boy back when they were first announced because alot of people *****ed just because it was Fall Out Boy.

Now having heard/played the song I have to admit the inclusion of Fall Out Boy and this song especially actually makes the game less fun for me.

It is actually a very widley known fact. They all used to be in hardcore punk bands and metal bands but got tired of the people in that scene so started a POP PUNK(not emo) band to have fun and get away from that.
