I'm having issues with Rock Band's microphone. Everything seems to be working fine but when ever someone uses the mic, there is really bad voice lag that comes out of the speakers. The lag is about half to a full second. It makes the game unplayable and annoying when using the mic.
I tried everything to fix this as I switched cables around and even turned off dolby digital. It helped a little bit but not much to make this game working with the mic properly.
Is there a fix for this and is Harmonix working on a patch or something? I really appreciate it. Thanks.
Here's some info of my setup.
PS3 60GB
50in Plasma Display
Samsung 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound
HDMI Input directly to TV for audio and picture
Digital Optical cable from Receiver to TV

Did you try the very first sticky on this forum?

Sorry, I just noticed it. I was a bit upset when I came to these forums and I guess I wasn't paying attention. Is there any news on this issue? Is there a patch on the way? I would like it fix because I payed $180 to play a working game.
But after reading that sticky, this just really sucks. I don't want to turn off my surround sound system with dolby digital... they need to fix this.

I just turned down the mic volume all the way. Works much better now!

I just did that as well. It's not as annoying anymore but It would be nice to hear yourself. I played the game at a friend's house and it was flawless and a lot of fun. I'm really disappointed right now. :(

Me and my friends have had a lot of trouble with this as well. Even ignoring the fact that the output from the speakers is a little late, there's still a problem. The game seems to have some lag before it realizes that you are singing. To make up for it, the singer has to start singing every word early to get credit on the phrase. That is very hard and very annoying to do. It makes getting a good score on anything above medium next to impossible. It's extremely apparent when doing a talking section such as the end of "The Hand That Feeds." Every section at the end of that song comes up as "okay" or "poor" because of the delay between when you say something and when the game thinks you say something.

I tried it again without Dolby Digital and it works much better. I prefer to keep it on though but it's unplayable, hopefully they will release an update for this game to fix this issue very soon.
