so the les paul is not currently compatible for the ps3, but is there one out there that is? and if there isn't, i really want to know how they were allowed to put on the box that rock band is compatible with most types of guitar.

i would say misleading advertising, sure it works for the Death Box, i can understand why its on the cover but why not change it for the ps3, I for one purchased it with the good intention it would work.

"most music controllers" or something like that is what is said on the box.
so that means no other guitar controllers, no other drum kits, so they could've (and should've) said microphones.
i really feel like harmonix was lying when they put that on the box (and when they said the patch would be out "today", but another argument for another thread).

You're hosed with the PS3 version at the present time. EA/Harmonix admit the problem. If you contact EA about it, you may be offered a free game for the trouble (I was).

well "most guitar controllers" is true cause theres only 2, so half of them are RB's so, technically, its compatible with 'most (or half)' of the guitar controllers.
and singstars mic also works for ps3, another periphal. there are no other drums, so all drums work.

There's no definition I've ever heard of where "half" is equivalent in meaning to "most."

well, when they advertise that, i assume theyre not talking about the guitar controller IT COMES WITH. i figured people would figure out they're not talking about what comes with it, but other controllers that don't.

There's also no definition I've ever heard of where "most" is equal to all. Out of a choice of 2, 1 is as close to most as we'll get until 3rd party controls are released. At which point this "false advertising" nonsense will go away.

Silly me.. I didn't even read the box before buying the game.. in fact, I purchased the game long before it was even out.. so not sure how much I can blame the box for my own purchase.. it could have said "Rock Band has been known to cause herpes" and I probably wouldn't have noticed until I started breaking out with sores

since when did advertising something works with what it comes packaged with (and only packaged with for the record) count as claiming compatiblity. not to mention, there are plenty of controllers for the ps2 that could potentially (but aren't) be compatible with the ps3. so when was this 'theres only 2 guitars for ps3' argument started?

I want to second this thought since I have been saying it since day one. I currently have 4 guitar controllers sitting in my living room right now which I have used to play music games (GH1,2 and 3) on my PS3. Of those 4 only 1 works with RB. There are plenty of others that work with the PS3 (over a dozen different models).
RB for PS3 is most certainly not currently compatible with MOST "Music Game Controllers." If EA, Sony and Activation would get there heads out of their posteriors we might be able to get these controllers working with the game correctly.
And just as a side note I can think of one game that specifically lists it's compatibility with the hardware it came with, GH3. Of course that is more to say that use with any other device/game is a license violation.
