Let's talk about our feelings, and how we use music to cope with them, or how music can create and change our feelings. Such as music being used in films, or while studying/reading/etc., or in games, or in advertisements.

Personally, I currently am a mix of sad and angry, so I am playing Rock Band 2 drums, in hopes to beat the **** outta my drums.

When I'm pissed I put on some BM to calm me down.

When down, I put on Bobby McFerrin or Petula Clark, and let the worries drift away.

Music has helped me cope with so many pangs of teenage angst it's ridiculous. Pretty much anything that evokes that "god that's amazing" reaction works very well. My go-to song for a long time when I started to get sad was Soilwork's "Wherever Thorns May Grow".

i don't really use music to change my mood, but rather complement it.
if i'm bummed i'm probably gonna listen to something sad, something angry if i'm upset, something abstract if i'm doing drugs, etc.

Bobby McFerrin pisses me of (Mr. Mackey voice) M'kay.

My brother's watching Tarzan right now. That one song the gorillas do with all the percussion is getting me out of a bad mood I didn't even realise I was in.

Music augments moods for you
Something like Nine Inch Nails is for jaded/sad, Gilmour/Hendrix is for soothing, Metallica/Dream Theater is for "normal," etc
I also try to come up with my own but it's never quite as good. Mostly a bunch of minor chords and so on...
