Playing Rock Band the other night, one of my friends was asking how the singing works. I was explaining the pitch thing to him, and how you can essentially hum the whole way through, and he challenged me to demonstrate on Timmy & The Lords of the Underworld.
I explained to him that that song was mostly phoneme detection, but I don't exactly back down from a challenge.
Depressingly, I picked up 85% (on Medium), which is higher than I tend to get when I try to actually 'sing' the song.
