Ok, so I turned on my PS3 today and there was no visual. I know it has nothing to do with hdmi or anything, plus I haven't changed tvs either.
So it turns on, but i still here the click from moving around with my controller.
I tried holding the on/off button for 5 seconds didn't work. I've made sure everything is in, didn't work. I noticed though on my AV cable, when u look on the inside there are those yellow things, and i seem to be missing most.
Could that be my problem? or is there something else?
please help and thanks in advance

Are you sure the cord in the back is in completely? It can get loose at times.

I'm not exactly sure what is wrong with your ps3...but my ps3 did something like that before it completely broke down. It use to turn on and work and one day when I turned it on there was no visual what so ever. The turn on light was on but nothing would come up. I switched cord...replugged everything in and nothing happened. I also held the power bottom and tried to turn it off but it didn't work. My ps3 completely shut down and I contacted Sony and I got a new ps3 2 weeks later....so maybe your having the same problem i had

Its mostlikely your cables.

EDIT: also check the pins in your ps where the cable plugs in and make sure they're not bent.

if you have more then 1 av port on your tv i would try switching that first.

I have no clue exactly. I just went on sony's support website and Filled in this form and since my ps3 was expired...it was 2 years old. They charged me $161 to send it in and see if it was fixable. Well It wasn't and without asking any question what so ever they sent me a brand new compatible PS3 in 2 weeks

It may also be worthwhile trying a different connection method, e.g. component video vs. composite video vs. hdmi, just to see if there is any difference and to help narrow the problem down.

Good luck, I've got my fingers crossed for ya.

Try holding the power button for 5-6 seconds, until you hear a second beep. That should reset the settings. See if that helps.

What customer service? I'd hardly call...screw you we're not fixing it even though it's the 12th thing of ours that broke on you,we never fixed any of it,it was all out of your pocket to replace and you don't have a credit card so can't pay to have the PS3 fixed anyway so we'd rather have you give all your money to MS instead...service.

Far as the topic maybe it's your TV? Try putting something else in there. Though since all of Sony's products automatically break after 2 years it's probably the PS3.

Thanks for this help, it seems I will have to send my limited edition 60gb back (l.e. one of the first ones out plays ps2 and ps1 games without software downloads)
