Its a pretty fun game play and plus you can win Microsoft Points/Arcade Games ( I am pretty sure you can't in the beta). Its a pretty cool and fun way to get some extra Microsoft points to get some extra Rock Band songs with.
Here's the current schedule if you want to play.
06/07/09 : Extended Play 7:00PM - 9:30PM
06/08/09 : Extended Play 7:30PM - 10:00PM

I've never played as part of the mob, or as the one, but I've played just as a huge mob with some friends. It was fun.

Yeah I've only played as the crowed too so far, but all you have to do is just keep playing and answering questions right to have a better chance to play as the mob or the one.

If you get a chance at the mob/the one by getting questions right, then I guess that I sure won't be playing in those roles anytime soon. :p

How does the game work?

How does the game work?
From what I've seen/done...
The game gives you a question and three answers. You pick one of them (the answers are set to the X, A, and B buttons), and hope you got it right.
If you're in the mob/if you're the one you're playing the actual game and REALLY want to get that question right. If you're just in the crowd, if you get it wrong you just keep going on.

Lol I know what you mean. :p
Heres a post from a developer of 1 vs 100 on how its determined.
Straight from our design team:
Role determination is based on weekly stats for speed, accuracy, and the number of questions answered. These stats are reset weekly to increase the opportunities for anyone to be a part of the Mob or to be the One. Please note that score is not considered in role determination.
To increase your chances of being chosen as a member of the Mob or as the One, play often and to the best of your ability. Good Luck!
Role Limitation:
One: A player can only be the One once per season.
Mob: A mob member is not allowed to be in the mob again within the same Primetime episode.

In addition to this, if you're in the crowd (which you most likely will be) then you'll be put in a group of four, then you'll compete against the others in the group for a higher score. You can either play in a party with some of your friends or with random people; I played with random people myself. You'll be given points based off of how quickly you answer the question and whether you get the question right or not.
It's really not hard to pick up. I literally had no idea how to play 1 vs. 100 coming into the game, but I still managed to figure it out before the first round is over.
Also, very few of the E3 questions were actually about E3.
I only played a few questions myself, but I noticed this.

And that 12/31 Live Show I'm pretty sure is a mistake. 3 am Live show on New years Eve? yeah. doubt it.

Of course, I played with some friends because the moment I entered the lobby I got a party invite, so I didn't know that it'll also give you random people. :p

Not only that, but it doesn't appear as beta.

I didn't mind that. It was gaming trivia, so it was cool.

Well, if you're unlucky you'll end up by yourself. I had to restart during the game (Xbox Live crapped out on me) and I ended up by myself for the last 5 minutes. It's nowhere near as fun as playing with a group. Even with random people, there's some competition. If you're by yourself, it's just answering questions, and that's no fun.

I just rechecked it and it is correct. That's what it says on the xbox dashboard schedule.

Wait, you're actually competing in a group? With me and my friends we were just... playing. Hell, sometimes one of us shouted out the right answer out loud for everyone to know.

I did this during the extended play.
What bothered me was the alphabet question.
A - X B - A C - B

Well, if you're stuck with random people you can't talk to at all, you don't have much else to do but compete. :p

Yeah, I was surprised at how many people missed the alphabet question. It was an obvious trick question, but still so many people got it wrong.

We did the exact opposite. In fact just for fun one of us said Warner Brothers bought Nintendo and locked in said answer.

That settles it: I'm definitely joining a party the next time I play 1 vs. 100.

I was pretty cautious about it, because I knew it would be a trick question to mess up the people who jumped the gun.

Yeah there is no achievements in the beta, but I did find somewhere a achievement list for the game.

I think the show that is scheduled to be on 12/31 is supposed to be the first official show where you can actually win stuff.

I think once it's out of beta, you'll be able to win stuff. I don't think beta will run for seven months. The novelty will wear off quickly if people don't have some reward to play for.
If you're by yourself, it's just answering questions, and that's no fun.
It would be less fun than playing with a group of people from your friends list, but considerably more fun than playing with a group of random, annoying people.

Actually, you can't hear the people in your group talk, so it's not bad at all. Normally I'd feel lonely with no one to socialize with, but I had some people in the room with me, so it was fun.

Its fun but gets old quick. Its stupid that you have to get ALL the questions right and extremely QUICKLY to even have SMALL chance to geting into the mob.If it was up to me, it should be random.
