I got interested after reading the challenge in survivor, so what was your very first post on www.rockband.com/forums ?

Heres mine, posted in the Favorite Drummer? Underrated Drummer? thread on 4/8/08

Flo Mounier-Cryptopsy
Terry Bozzio-Zappa
Gene Hoglen-Strapping Young Lad
Chris Adler-Lamb Of God

I know there was a thread about this, but its a year old.

EDIT: for those confused on what to do:

1-Go to advance search, search you name
2-Change "find posts from" to "any date" and "older"
3-Change "sort results by" to "last posting date" and "ascending order"
4-Change show results as to "posts"
5-The first post that shows up is your first post.

You can search a year and older, Daes. Maybe it'll be there.

Here's mine, as mimic showed:

Hello All,

I basically just bought Rock Band and hooked up my wireless Internet. My PSN is
bmaninc, and the title basically says the rest. I'm a casual player, though I do play often, mostly after 7:00 ET, because of work. I play less on weekends, though I do still play.

I'm trying to improve all aspects of my play.

Drums - Medium/Hard
Guitar - Hard/Expert
Bass - Expert
Vocals - Easy/Medium

This wouldn't be a band, really, just a group of people who aren't exactly experts at the game but want to improve.

Again, that PSN is bmaninc

...I'm needy.

Could this be Daes's first post? Swooning over Dave Batista? :D

I still watch wrestling occasionally, mainly just the PPVs with my friends. Batista is my favorite, I know he's not the best with his lines, but he's awesome eye candy :) I got to meet him last year.. got a photo (on my myspace) and his autograph. He was ok in person, not really nice, not really mean, he was just there. Seen only one show live, but had second row seats by the turnbuckle, so that was really awesome :)

To find your first post, go to advanced search, type in your name, and go to the last one.

I guess I'll throw my two cents in here. I'm a lefty but I've learned to conform to the right handed guitar. I know that GH and RB are never going to specifically sell a Left Handed guitar (after market is different), I mean if only 12% of the population is left handed, why would they cater to that? That's not a very high number of people buying the lefty guitars. They're looking for profit, there is none in a lefty guitar. I've learned to conform how to practically do most things right handed except writing.. world is not going to conform to my left-handedness, so I've just learned to conform to the world.

Artist - Ted Nugent
Song - StrangleHold
Genre - Rock
Why its a good choice - Stranglehold has a really good solo and the vocals would be fun to sing. It also has a good beat and the drums sound fun
(Its one of the few Ted Nugent songs without very offensive lyrics) (Atleast thats what I think)

Well, after seeing this thread, I only have one thing to say.

Hell yes.

I think Like Eating Glass would be a nice way to tick off your drummer... I'm not going to choose, because whatever we say here, it'll probably end up being Helicopter, Banquet, and maybe Hunting for Witches. Those are the most RB songs (as in the most well-known guitar songs), if RB was an adjective. Anyway, that would be a kickass 3-pack. Though I too would like to see Rhododendron.

Yeah, actually this song would probably be great for guitar hero III, but since it has no vocals, and the drummer uses double bass, I don't think there's any chance it will be in this game

It was in response to someone suggesting Crusade by Trivium for Rock Band. At the time, there wasn't a known way Harmonix would chart songs with double bass, so I assumed they just wouldn't include double bass songs, rather than just charting the right foot.

Alrighty, um...

Taking Back Sunday Pack:
You're So Last Summer
MakeDamnSure
What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost?

Avenged Sevenfold Pack:
Bat Country
MIA
Almost Easy

Breaking Benjamin Pack:
The Diary of Jane
Polyamorous
Sooner or Later

Singles:
Anything Can Happen In The Next Half Hour- Enter Shikari
The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows- Brand New
Evolution- Korn
Rooftops (A Liberation Transmission)- Lostprophets
House of Wolves- My Chemical Romance

Albums:
Black Holes and Revelations- Muse (You know it. I know you know it.)
Meteora- Linkin Park

Wow, I haven't seen that in a while. It's kinda sad for me to see that a year and a half later, only 3 of the songs I really wanted have made it into Rock Band (2 TBS songs and 1 song from BHaR).

EDIT: 4 songs, forgot "Almost Easy"

EDIT 2: I also wanted to add that I had a post where I stated 23 3-packs that I wanted to get in the game and after a year and a half, only 5 SONGS have been added. It makes you really see how small of a chunk of music out there will be put into these games.

Here is my first post. It was in a thread called "Left Over Bands for DLC":

Some Great DLC:
1. Blue Oyster Cult-Burnin' For You [Individual Track]
2. Foo Fighters-My Hero, Best Of You, The Pretender [Pack]
3. Bon Jovi-Livin' On A Prayer, You Give Love A Bad Name, Raise Your Hands [Pack]
4. Rolling Stones-Sympathy For The Devil, Start Me Up, Brown Sugar, Paint It Black, I Can't Get No Satisfaction, Jumpin' Jack Flash [2 Packs-Order Doesn't Mattter]
5. Red Hot Chili Peppers-Californication, By The Way, Under The Bridge [Pack]
6. REM-The One I Love, What's The Frequency Kenneth, It's The End Of The World As We Know It [Pack]
7. Aerosmith-Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion, Dream On, Rag Doll, Janie's Got A Gun, Love In An Elevator, Jaded, Dude (Looks Like A Lady), Last Child [3 Packs-Order Doesn't Matter]
7. The Killers-Somebody Told Me, Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine, Mr. Brightside, Andy You're A Star, All These Things That I've Done, Believe Me Natalie [Mostly Songs of "Hot Fuss"-2 Packs]
8. Fall Out Boy-Sugar We're Goin' Down, Dance Dance, This Ain't A Scene..., Thnks Fr The Mmrs, Where Is Your Boy, The Carpal Tunnel Of Love [2 Packs]

Nice to see we got a couple of those songs in the game!

And for the heck of it, here's my second post:

Pearl Jam All The Way! I think that Harmonix needs to release, at least, "Jeremy", "Alive", and "Even Flow". Yes, I Know "Even Flow" is in GH3, but I WANT TO SING IT!
I also think that when the full album of Nirvana's "Nevermind" is released, Pearl Jam's "Ten" should be released as well.

It came true! (Sort of, we still need three songs off of Nevermind)

RockBandRocker
06-08-2009, 04:17 AM
LOL! I just found this one:

Pink Floyd: "Dark Side Of The Moon", "Wish You Were Here", "The Wall". I would like to see Run Like Hell, Comfortably Numb, Money, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Hey You and others. Some of the Floyd's best work is these three albums. They should also take songs off of "The Final Cut", "The Division Bell" and "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason". Not classics like the first three, but still great guitar solos, powerful drumming, and great vocals.
Led Zeppelin: I think that the collection "Mothership" was an awesome listen. They should have that as a full album download, because it contained the best of Zep. "Stairway To Heaven", "Kashmir", and "Achilles Last Stand" should be put together as a pack.
The Beatles: I like The Beatles, but so many of their classic songs would likely play the same. Unlike The Who or The Rolling Stones, The Beatles didn't have much variety in their teeny-bop early years. It wasn't until songs like "Revolution" and "Come Together" were written that they defined themselves. Early work like "Help!" and "Can't Buy Me Love" sound so alike, that they might end up being really boring to play. I think that Harmonix will have to use caution when developing the early songs, so that we can have as much fun playing them as we do listening to them.

How foolish I was back than! Than again, those were the days when a game dedicated to The Beatles "will never happen". I can't wait for 9/9/09!

Beelzeboss by Tenacious D from The Pick Of Destiny

End Of The Line by The Travelling Wilburys from Volume 1

Hot For Teacher by Van Halen from 1984

All Over The World by Strange Fruit from Still Crazy Soundtrack Album

Here I Go Again by Whitesnake from Whitesnake

You're Gonna Miss Me by The 13th Floor Elevators from The Psychadelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators

Black Widow Eyes by The Who from Endless Wire

In terms of albums I'd like to see:

Quadrophenia by The Who

Screaming For Venageance by Judas Priest

Defenders Of The Faith by Judas Priest

Sad Wings Of Destiny by Judas Priest

Queen II by Queen

Endless Wire by The Who

Edge Of The World by Glenn Tipton, Cozy Powell and John Entwistle

Well, I guess that's it for now. Lots more, but I decided to try to keep to one song per artist (except The Who obviously). I think my selection reveals a lot about my musical taste.

Here is my first post. It was in a thread called "Left Over Bands for DLC":

My first post came in that exact same thread! Odd... Here was mine:

1. Mountain - Doubtful
2. Blue Oyster Cult - 50/50. Godzilla would be awesome. Astronomy too (even though I like the Metallica cover better)
3. Foo Fighters - Almost guaranteed.
4. The Strokes - Probable. I'm sure we could dig out some good songs.
5. Bon Jovi - Highly likely. Livin' on a Prayer would be great.
6. Jet - 50/50. Would LOVE to see Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, but Look What You've Done would be cool to have another ballad in the game.
7. OK Go - 50/50. I'm partial to OK Go, so I would like to see more, but I'm not sure if we will. There's A Fire, Don't Ask Me, The Fix is In are all awesome songs.
8. Rolling Stones - I would think so, but I'm not a huge fan.
9. Beastie Boys - Doubtful, though Intergalactic would be hilarious.
10. Deep Purple - Possible. Out of all the CDs though, Smoke on the Water is the only thing that comes to mind.
11. Hole - Doubtful.
12. Garbage - Hope not! (kidding...actually I'm not)
13. Pixies - Possible. Debaser would be cool.
14. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Probably since they're more contemporary, but I could take it or leave it.
15. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Almost a lock. Some quality stuff to choose from. Most likely a pack (like someone said earlier)
16. Soundgarden - Probable. Again, lots of choices.
17. REM - 50/50. Never been a huge REM fan but I wouldn't oppose.
18. Boston - I think so, and I really hope so. More than a Feeling among others would be cool.
19. Molly Hatchet - I'd heard Flirtin' With Disaster before RB but I never really knew much about Molly Hatchet so...pass.
20. Outlaws - Doubtful, but I hope so.
21. New Pornographers - Doubtful, not a lot of noteworthy stuff (imo) off any of their CDs.
22. Aerosmith - 50/50. Not a huge Aerosmith fan, but I'd download it cause most of it's challenging for the guitar.
23. Killers - Maybe. The Killer wore on me awful fast. Somebody Told Me is really the only song I can stand from them anymore (Other than When You Were Young)
24. Fallout Boy - Definitely one of the top 3 probable inclusions. I love Fallout Boy, I know some don't but I think they could go so many ways and have some awesome songs included. Sugar We're Goin Down, Atavan Halen, The Music or the Misery, The Take Over The Break's Over, Thnks Fr Th Mmrs, and just slap ALL of Take This To Your Grave on there.

I was pretty much on with my guesses. The only band I didn't guess correctly was the New Pornographers.

Edit: I didn't get the Beastie Boys either I suppose. I said doubtful and they did get a song, albeit in RB2.

My one is quite boring. It is in relation to the problems people had trying to download BSSM on the 360 (something to do with the NXE):

Whew, its at least some comfort to know that its not just me having problems downloading BSSM. At first I thought it might have been because I'm in Australia (shhhh...don't tell anyone ), but the symptoms I'm getting (i.e. file getting to 1% and stopping, previews not downloading etc.) seems to be what other people are getting as well. Trying to download other things works fine, so I my (partially-educated) guess is its: a) a problem with the file related to the down time for XBL yesterday, b) heaps of people trying to download the file, or c) a combination of the two. Hopefully this gets sorted soon. I wants me some RHCP!

Here is my first one, from July 17, 2007

I jumped right into the Ultimate Setlist forum with my thoughts, and it turns out that I've received some of my suggestions.

NICE!

We definitely need some of those songs that haven't been released (yet!)

WHAT! No Coheed & Cambria?!

DarkEternal, shame on you!

(Not really, since you've more than made up for it with your posting in the Co&Ca thread.)

Actually, I think my 3rd post was in the first iteration of the Coheed thread. (I don't have the list up any more.) :) This was actually the week after Ten Speed came out so I didn't have to guess for Coheed since they already had a song at that point!

It actually took me a while to post in support of Coheed & Cambria.

WAAY back in August '07.

We were looking at a picture of the new RB guitar and were discussing if it was wireless.

No, there's a wire visible. When the camera pulls away from the screen the first time, the guy with dreds has a wire going down. You can see it on his left leg. Our left. His right.

honestly, not really. paramore is not a bad band it's just that it's not the type of music hardcore rock band fans would be too happy about. you could always request them though....

lol, how foolish i was.

thanks for your opinions i guess i'm going to buy the thrash pack (dear god i never thought i would say that..) and yes i do play expert.

once again, what a foolish child i was. :p now i love thrash metal. thanks partly to the Thrash Pack. lol

Week 1: lostprophets (The Best Band You've Never Heard of)
- A Town Called Hypocrisy - lostprophets Catchy vocals, even better guitar (with a solo!), and tough drums
- Everyday Combat - lostprophets Long song (most bang for your buck), guitar solo, the craziest drums ever
- To Hell We Ride - lostprophets - Best for guitar because it has 3 verses, a bridge, and a solo

Week 2: Fast Rock Songs
- Alive - Papa Roach It is a REALLY hard, fast rock song with a guitar solo
- Pulse of the Maggots - Slipknot Heavy metal vocals, freakin insane drums, and uber-fast guitar with a solo
- Attack - System of a Down This song has fast everything; vocals, guitar, and drums

Week 3: Rock Fans' Top Picks
- Riot - Three Days Grace All around good song
- Remedy - Seether We all know and love this song
- Inside the Fire - Disturbed I know that everyone who listens to the radio has heard this and loves it

Meh.

This is a cool idea. I'm disappointed that my 1st post was for complaining though... :(

From way back in '07...

Just came back from Futureshop and Walmart in St-Bruno on the south shore of Montréal, and still no bundle... Called Bestbuy in St-Bruno as well, and still no bundle as well. I had a talk with the futureshop guy and he said that stores that are selling it already aren't allowed to do so. He said that they could get into trouble for doing so. And he told me that it's supposed to come out on the 28th of December.

I'm pretty sure mine was responding to some guy's topic about how after he returned from the war that he couldn't play video games in general because he damaged the muscles in his hand, but he could play rock band.

It was pretty sweet, I should see if I can find it.

Ooh I found my first post! Of course it was about speculation regarding the 20 free songs

The last twenty songs are going to be alphabetically below 'the'. 84 songs, and not one of them is from a band that starts with a letter from U-Z (counting 'the' as the beginning of the band name). Below is a list of bands below 'the' that have been in a Harmonix game before:

Toadies
Tokio Hotel
Trapt
Tribe
Twisted Sister
Universal Hall Pass
Vagiant
Van Halen
Warrant
Weezer
White Lion
White Zombie
Winger
Wolfmother
X
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
ZZ Top

There's going to be a combination of both what would've been main setlist songs, and bonus songs, had there been enough room to fit 104 songs onto the disk.

Furthermore, a while back there was an announcement that a band called Turbonegro was going to have a song in Rock Band 2. This is after 'the' alphabetically, so my assumption is that it'll be as part of the free downloads

From that list above, I'd assume that Trapt, Turbonegro, Twisted Sister, Vagiant, Weezer, White Zombie, Wolfmother, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and ZZ Top (or at least most of them), will be included in the 20 downloadable songs.

Man, was I WAY off!

EDIT: HOWEVER! I was nearly spot-on with my second post

Nevermind doesn't have a possibility of coming out until RB2 comes out on PS3, since Drain You is on disc. At the earliest, it comes out mid-October, so please stop saying it's Nevermind every week

My drums broke. So I went here to find out what to do because I was past rma'ing them. I ended up getting insulted because someone didn't figure out how they could snap like that. I ended up reinforcing them in the end with some metal and glue your hand to your eye glue.

But then again, the Megadeth and RHCP albums were released as DLC before RB2 was released on the PS3. So your reasoning didn't turn out to be correct.

For Eric Clapton, I'd like to see "Sunshine of Your Love" or "White Room" from Cream, although "Layla" by Derek and the Dominos or various solo Clapton songs would work well, too.

I think there's a good chance we'll see Cream, since they only existed for a short time in the '60s, and no '60s songs have been announced, not to mention the skill of the individual musicians, making Cream an ideal Rock Band group, IMO.
