Tool.
I realize complete albums for Tool probably can't be done, but you can do like w/ Metallica and do a career spanning song pack or whatever it's called. Believe me, if you're planning on hitting only the biggest of the bigs for complete albums or major song packs, Tool should DEFINATELY be included. They're arguably at the height of their popularity right now and I truly believe they will be forever remembered as one of the great influences of our time. I know for a fact that they often played Guitar Hero while they were recording "10,000 Days", their latest album. I'm pretty sure you could get them.
A list of their songs that could be on such a list:
The Patient
Bottom
Intolerance
The Grudge
Eulogy
Part of Me
4 degrees
Jerk-Off(explicit)
Stinkfist
Right in Two
Lateralus
Parabola
Undertow
Aenema(explicit)
Sober
46&2
Prison Sex(explicit)
Vicarious
Jambi
The Pot
H.
Opiate(explicit)
Swamp Song
Schism
Sweat
Jimmy
Pushi-it
Wings for Marie (parts 1 and 2, must be played back to back...yes that'd be like 20 minutes, but c'mon, you could NOT break these up...and they would be absolutely EPIC)
I mean, let's face it...that's a LOT of songs. I tried to mark the ones that have explicit lyrics and probably wouldn't work w/ editing(dunno how that'll be handled yet), though I most likely missed some. I bolded the final selection because, personally, this is my ultimate dream for Rock Band...being able to play these two songs, back-to-back. The climax of Wings part 2 would be the most awesome video game moment of my entire life. I would have to strap on Depends before playing these two songs...each and every time.

a career spanning song pack
Do you mean a medley? I absolutely hate medleys, I don't know who invented them, but they suck.
If they include songs, the should include whole songs and not short combinations of them.

I'm pretty sure it's full songs they'll be doing, not medlies. It was in the Metallica announcement that they're going to release 'career spanning song packs', rather than doing full albums from Metallica (difficult because of instramental songs) they'll release complete song packs from various albums. that's what I'm wanting...

Not including Tool would be a crime.

Yes I do. Their shows are selling out across the country and, while that might also have been the case w/ their last tour, I think '10,000 Days' only increased upon their popularity, I don't think it has diminished.
I didn't say height of their musical ability/talent. While I personally DO think they are at the height of their ability right now, I know not a lot of people agree. That's a subjective thing of course, but a lot of people seem to think Opiate was their best and that they've slowly degraded ever since. I believe the exact opposite, which I think quite a few people agree with that as well.

Tool is at their height, Since the release of 10,000 days I have seen people that don't even like rock music become fans of tool. They even sold out a show in Maine, I couldn't get a ticket and I have been listening to them for quite some time. Really pissed me off.

That sucks Keagan...I feel for you, truly. I got to see them twice, once in Jacksonville FL and then in St. Louis. Both just awesome. As expected, they played a lot of their new stuff, but I definately didn't complain, it all plays really well live.

My friend went and said they played tracks from Opiate because Portland had been fans for a long time. I wish I could of seen it.
