This might have been posted but the comments made by RO make it sound like they may also not want GH guitars to be compatible RB either. Not really sure what to think. here's the article.

Quite simple really from a business standpoint. If they make the Les Paul Compatible I will buy GH3 as will many others. If they don't I and many others won't

Good point. As a Xbox 360 owner, however, I'm happy I can use my GH III guitar with RB. That and better play via XBL (that's IMHO) and achievements swayed me to get the Xbox 360 version.
However, I really like the overall design of the RB guitar better than the GH III one (minus the current flaws). Honestly, and especially on the Xbox 360, why can't Microsoft get them from all working together, controller-wise?
I know anything that's a licensed controller has at least some semblance of Microsoft's controller tech inside, so why does Red Octane need to be the maverick here? Yes, I understand the business aspect, but it stinks as a consumer...

Well maybe there is somehow a silver lining to this cloud at least for Xbox 360 owners:
Wirless Xbox 360 RB Fender @ Spike's VGAs (http://www.destructoid.com/wireless-360-rock-band-fender-spotted-at-spike-video-game-awards-58432.phtml)
Now here's the thing, and they mention this in the article, if the wireless tech inside this version has any semblance of Microsoft's wireless tech for the Xbox 360, then perhaps, inadvertently, this may work with GH II/III.
I'm sure Activision/Red Octane would not be so happy, but there wouldn't be much they could do.
Besides, an Xbox 360 controller is an Xbox 360 controller no matter how you slice it; at least, the wireless ones seem it.
