In no particular order, any song will do.

Van Halen (DLR ONLY!!!)
Motley Crue
Def Leopard
Cinderella
God Smack
Green Day
Live
Seether
Nickelback
Creed
Pearl Jam
Queen
Cold

That is enough for now; I know I didn't get everyone I wanted, I'll post more later. Make it Happen Harmonix!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, none of this "As made famous by" crap either.

Well I'm sure we'll see some "As Made Famous By" as that is pretty inevitable.

Although you forgot a band: AC/DC :)

I have to agree that it is a sad tragedy that Queen is no where to be found on rock band.

...but Fall out boy is?

Seriously, Queen is the only band to have all 4 members : signer, drummer, bassist, and lead guitar inducted into the songwriters hall of fame. That has to say something! I was trying to figure out what Queen songs would be fantastic in this game and I have come up with these...

Princes of the Universe
Liar
Stone Cold Crazy
Dragon Attack
Keep Yourself Alive
Its Late

Just to name a few. I think this is due to the fact that most of the songs by Queen in the U.S. are songs like Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions and as much as I love those songs they are more piano or crowd based and do not focus as a whole on all of the instruments featured in Rock Band.

As i(and others) have pointed out, a song(or band for that matter) has to be more than a hit. If the song is basically Intro, Verse 1, Chorus, Verse 2, Solo, Verse 1 & Outro...if they are seriously repetitious and lacking in technical merit...its hard to justify their inclusion.

I love AC/DC and Judas Priest...but lets face it, most of either of these bands hits are a drummer pounding the same monster beat and a bass filling in the whole way...Priest has Tipton & Downing alternating on solos(not possible with just one guitar)...so you have fairly boring songs to play if your not lead guitar. No one wants that in RB i am sure.

So, technical merit has to be considered when looking at any song for the game...

Just a thought...sorry for the generalizations if i cast too broad a brush on this topic but having played "Breaking the Law", "Living After Midnight" & "You Got Another Thing Coming" back in my metal band days...these are boring POWERFUL songs...but tiring as is a LOT of AC/DC's stuff.

These guys are all wrong. You don't need to be more like GH you need to differentiate your game. Use the other instruments to make you different. Put in some Journey, U2 and other bands that have great vocals and do good in Karoke bars.

Godsmack, Green Day, Live (The Dolphin's Cry), Nickelback, Creed. Those are the best on that list.
