Attention: If you have come to this thread to talk garbage about the music I listen to, then I guess you should just leave because this thread is not for you. So please If you have constructive comments about a particular song or would like add a song please reply. That's quite the list. :)
Wouldn't it be easier to keep this in the "Country DLC" thread? Not like it matters to me personally, but my mod tendencies just went off (I guess that's what happens when one has been a mod at a forum ;) ).
Again, that's quite the list.

The rest of you country music haters can bite me. I have heard all kinds of people say country people don't know real music and stuff. The thing is I just like music. The people that just bash country music people are worst than just not liking country, they are closed minded. They can't see it is all music and just might not be thier taste. Most times I like the music they like too. Country is not my most favorite music but I like a lot of it. That being said, you have to think about how fun it is to play! Any country song by Kieth Urban would be good in this game. He is not my favorite country artist but his music works for this. Many others you listed would be good but some would not. The only song in your list I hate is Chatahoochie.

I actually don't like Country, and it doesn't fit in the Rock Band game image. I mean it's only Rock and components of Rock if you ask me, (metal, etc). Country will not fit in with it, so if I were you I wouldn't count your nickels and dimes on a country song making it to the game. I'm not hating on Country, I really don't like any of it, but if you want to request it. But it's more often than not going to be overlooked because Country isn't a part of rock. Wasn't made as a Alternative rock, wasn't an inspiration for rock. So it doesn't belong on Rock Band.

I'm sorry, but all I see is somebody who doesn't like country trying to validate why it shouldn't be there due to thier own prejudices and semantics. Country fits...plain and simple. The instrument makeup is nearly identical to most rock bands. Fact is, if you don't like it, don't download it..but don't you dare tell me what does or does not belong. It's not your call.

I'm going to repost what I posted in another thread since it also rings true here:
"I just want to state up front that this is not directed toward those who have stated that they do not like country music, but understand that it could work in RB. To you, I have the upmost respect. To the rest of you…pay attention.
You people seriously underestimate the size and influence of the country music fan base. Artists such as Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, George Strait, and Carrie Underwood, and many others out sell most metal and rock bands in both CD and ticket sales.
Second, most of the "trailer trash" I see and know listen to rock. Most (not all) country fans are some of the most hard working, patriotic, and believe it or not, educated people you will ever meet, not to mention, much more polite and well mannered than you and your ilk. The real problem is that you are too stupid, ignorant, or indifferent to understand what good quality music really is. That’s not to say what you listen to is garbage, it’s not. Rock, Metal, Grunge, Emo, Ska, R&B, or whatever all have their place.
Face it, most of you bash country because if you even hinted that you liked country, you would be ostracized by your so called buddies for being less cool then they are, and your fragile little ego just couldn't handle you making your own decision....you sheep. Introspect and assess yourself honestly, if you can.
That's not a bash on Rock as I listen to that as well. I just find it funny. If you truly don’t like a particular genre of music, fine…but keep your ill-bred and superfluous bloviating to yourself."
You don't listen to country, so you have NO clue how powerful it is nor it's influence over the music industry in general.

I for one don't listen to country, but I wouldn't mind giving it a shot in Rock Band. Unfortunately Jixzer, we won't stop seeing the ignorance that is here as much as we try. However, that doesn't mean that country just isn't a possibility.
I think what people are missing is the fact that it's called "Rock Band" as more of a title than anything else.
Another thing people need to realize is that the term "rock" encompasses so many different styles of music, it's nearly impossible to count them all. Just because there is no distortion guitar in a song, doesn't mean it's not rock.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Chuck Berry. History considers his music "rock." Same goes for Elvis. However, neither sounds like what we think rock is today, yet there's a clamoring of sorts for 1950s rock DLC (http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=14466).
Plus people are forgetting about the fusion genre of Country Rock. The Eagles, anybody? Most people today would consider them rock if you asked them.
Let us also not forget about the fact that country is a genre that is growing more rapidly than others. So the fact that country could make an appearance as DLC is very much a possibility.
History lesson: both rock and country have roots in the blues. Also, both styles share styles as well. Yes the genres are much more defined and different right now, but RB has a vocal part, guitar, bass, and drums. Country could be done.
I just wished people weren't as ignorant and close-minded. Then again, I could assume we're dealing with a bunch of pre-teens/teens here (and probably be right), and as such, it's hard to convince said age groups out of their beliefs, ill-founded or not.

I hate country for the most part... there are maybe 12 country songs total that I can actually stand to listen to.... but I, along with a lot more then 2 other people would cop it simply for the fact that its more available songs. I dont particularly like about 60% of the songs on RB, but I love the fact that they are there for me to play and I dont think country tunes would be any different. Between all 4 GH games and RB there must be 200 some odd songs you could potentially play... nothing wrong with building up the library and Red Octane said they would keep coming out with expansion packs... then again they also said their controllers would work with RB....still sore about that one :(

This is not a question of right or wrong. You're not in the position to say so and neither is anybody else.
This is far different from requesting rap or techno as simply put, the current states of both music genres do not involve the 4 instruments of RB as major components of a song; at the majority of both genres don't.
I don't see this has anything to do with "rednecks or NASCAR;" the ignorant stereotypes really don't apply anymore. I've lived in Connecticut all my life and country was not a major genre here even though we've had a country radio station here. Now country is far larger here in the Northeast than it was before and NASCAR has grown exponentially as a sport. A perfect example would be a friend of mine. He doesn't listen to country but has no problems listening to it if he had to. His taste in music lies mostly in alternative rock and metal. Yet, he's a big NASCAR fan. Why? It's because he loves cars and is the biggest "gear-head" I know.
Again, it seems like most people completely decided to ignore the mini history lesson I gave in an earlier post; rock and country share the same origins and have similar musical qualities. So the point about "it's called ROCK Band" fails immensely.
Most people would consider The Eagles a rock band. However, little do they realize that they're actually a hybrid of country and rock. They would fall under the fusion category of Country Rock.
What about Lynyrd Skynyrd? People consider them to be rock but they're a mix of Blues Rock, Southern Rock, and Hard Rock. Not to mention because of their use of the blues, they share a lot of components from country. Yet do people not want Free Bird again in RB?
Personally, I never thought I'd defend country to this degree (because I don't really listen to it), but it is how ignorant people really can be that bothers me. :(

how is it different it takes as much talent to make rap as it does country just different subject matter
rap: *****es, hos, money, bling, cars, weed, guns, violence
country: pickup trucks, tractors, beating your wife, redneckery, nascar, drinking, dogs
i could go on and on but you get my point
its that kind of music that you need to show up and dress the part and all the dumb masses buy your records in droves.

It's not JUST about the content of the music. It's about the musical composition as well. In fact it is more about that than the content for country.
Not all country is just about what you mentioned; in fact it's far from most of that. Listen to the lyrics of a majority of the songs and you'll see. Sure some are, but not all.
Heck even in rap, the content you mentioned really has only come to a head now. In the past rap was far different. Rap told stories about urban life and how things needed to change. Rap still is like that in many aspects but unfortunately the majority has turned into stuff about "bling" and "whores."
Your ignorance in both genres is very apparent, yet you refuse to learn the roots of both genres. Not to mention that you don't seem like you're even giving credence to the fact that it's is FACT that rock and country share many aspects of musical styles, etc.

I hate people labeling country, or other people "white trash" because they might seem country. No one is trash. Trash is worthless, and no human being is worthless. One person is just as good as the next. Matter of fact, I would say im a little bit country, and if you would EVER call me white trash to my face, "not behind a computer like a coward" I would seriously knock you out for your ignorance, and hate. Last time I cecked I live in a very nice house, not a trailer, and furthermore, I have all my teeth. .....arent those stereotypes, if you didnt agree with them why even bring them up.
