They've infested our house, and we can't get rid of them. We have two dogs that brought them in, and we've banned them to outside until they are rid of them themselves.
We've tried everything.
- Salt
- Vacuuming
- Bug Bombs
- Hot Shot and Raid Flea Sprays
- Carpet Cleaning
- And strangely enough, Eucalyptus leaves. Somehow that is supposed to work.
We're running out of ideas, and they are eating us alive. The internet has failed me, so any of you have any ideas?

You're likely going to have to call someone and get the entire house done, then, lots of cleaning.
However, this may not be the best place to find information.

Ha, yeah, we're thinking about that one.
And I think getting the whole house done is our last option. Shame, since we've spent so much money on the other remedies.

Have an exterminator SPRAY THE LAWN on a regular basis. That is the only way to really get a lid on the little bastards. Go to your veterinarian and get Advantix or some other kind of topical flea treatment (whatever he or she recommends) for the dogs, too.

Hire an exterminator.

Machine guns, tanks, air strike missiles, and even a nuke!
You should be good after that.

One reason why you shouldn't leave your dogs outside all the time. :\
LOL @ fire suggestion xD
Umm... lots of thick socks.. pull them over your pant legs. Live underwater.

Are your dogs being treated with Advantage/Frontline? Those seem to be the best flea treatments.
I moved into my apartment that already had fleas. We cleaned the apartment and the carpets when we moved in and figured that we got rid of the fleas. When I adopted my first cat we realized that the fleas we still in the apartment. I gave my cat a cheap flea treatment and sanitized the carpets with Borax and vacuumed a couple times and it didn't work.
We were finally able to get rid of the fleas by giving my cat the once a month Advantage treatment. We didn't even have to use any other treatments for the rest of the apartment. The fleas in the apartment all jumped on my cat eventually and died when they tried to bite her. All the fleas and the flea eggs lying dormant around the apartment eventually jumped on her and died. It took 2-3 months of treatment for us to be finally rid of the fleas.
I'm not guaranteeing it will be that easy for you, but it probably would be the cheapest and most effective method without hiring professional exterminators.
Don't go with the cheap flea treatments because they don't work. Shell out the money for Advantage or Frontline. Once you treat your dogs, let them back in the house because they will be the way to kill the fleas. Continue with the treatment until you're sure the fleas are gone.
Good luck with your problem.

I didn't mean to use her as flea bait. I apologize to my kitty if she felt used. :( The flea medicine was just to keep the fleas off of her, but it just happened that she was able to rid the rest of the apartment of fleas.
She doesn't cook or clean, so I gotta put her to some use. :p

The best advice that could be given... Right next to the advice of Tanks, machine guns, nukes and other stuff in that nature.

However, the thought bomb is actually a better choice because it kills all the life on the planet while saving the inorganic resources.

Not gonna read the whole thread but...try Advantage. NOT a knock off brand, it has to be advantage, the expensive stuff you buy at a vets office. It worked for a family member's dogs. It worked for my cats. It will probably work on your dogs, unless you have mutant fleas from hell.

advantage works well.
Also Sentinel. Sentinel stops eggs from developing but does not kill adult fleas.
SO what i do is bring my dog outside. . put a product called "Capstar" (real cheap at petmeds.com). within a few minutes you can literally see them jumping off your dog. Once i'm satisfied they are off my dog. i bring her back inside. The ones inside won't get on her as long as i put capstar on her, and even if they do, the sentinel stops them from reproducing.
i recommend doing this as well as treating your carpet. Just because they prefer dogs doesn't mean they wont try to live on other things.

Exterminator and give your dogs flea baths. Preferably have something done to your lawn too, or else when you let them out to poop you'll get fleas again.

Since you are dealing with dogs that, by their nature, have to go outside several times a day, I have to reinforce what everyone has said about Advantage or Frontline. It does not matter how you treat your house, you can kill every flea and every egg in there and the fleas will come back as soon as your dogs go outside and pick up new ones. The only way to stop it is to make sure the fleas outside leave your dogs alone, and Advantage and it's various competitors are by far the best way to do that.

Adams Flea Spray. Spray it on your dog and you can watch em drop of dead.

Yeah, the yard has been treated and so have the dogs. But I see no change. And they aren't allowed to come inside until they are gone or they'll just get them again.

There is only hope.... Do a barrel roll!
Seriously though get clark to your house, and clean the pets not just the house (trust me that is crucial).
