can you guys think of any band that feature screaming and use it well? I used to automatically hate screaming in music but have developed an appreciation for the talent it takes to do it. It can be any genre really(metal, punk, rock, alt rock, emo even). Thanks in advance!!!

Much more Screamo.

Anyway, to the OP. Any particular style of screaming are you interested in? You referenced vague genres, but not really any particular styles. Black Metal scream != Screamo scream != pig squeal != inhaled scream != growl, etc.

Here's some good screamo (seeing as that's been the focus so far):
Majority Rule
Orchid
United Nations
Circle Take the Square
Saetia
Funeral Diner

Yay, another ****-your-opinions-about-metalcore thread! Really guys? He wanted recommendations. I support the crusade against calling metalcore screamo, but posts 51-80 were basically "I DON'T LIKE METALCORE AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU". Give it a rest.

OP: I suggest you check out the following genres and see what interests you.
- some nu-metal (Slipknot comes to mind)
- metalcore
- deathcore
- grindcore
- death metal
- black metal
- screamo (I think?)
- post-hardcore

See which ones you like. Ignore these people trying to tell you what's good.

How about we ignore someone who willingly suggests Slipknot, eh?

He never said they were, genius.

I suggested he listen to them and see if he likes them. That's his business. If you really think that your opinion of a band should determine whether others give them a chance you honestly don't even deserve the right to have an opinion.

God, I swear the average maturity level in this forum is somewhere around an eleven-year-old's. Let other people listen to what they want and stop annoying them.

I can't help but chuckle at the hypocrisy of someone pointing out the forum's perceived immaturity when said poster also has to resort to personal insults.

It's not a personal insult, It's really quite simple: if you're going to use something to hurt people who have done you no wrong, you don't deserve to have it. If you plan to take a gun around killing random people, you don't deserve to own a gun. If you're going to try to force your opinion on people to the point that you try to prevent them from finding music that may please them, you don't deserve to hold that opinion.

It's all about the music that makes you happy. If Slipknot makes the OP happy, that's his own business. There is no good reason to tell him not to listen to them. All you're doing is depriving him of something you have simply because he find it in a different way. If he likes chocolate ice cream and you like vanilla, should he not even try the chocolate? It's immature and rude to tell them not to.

We are kids on top of a colony of ants with a magnifying glass, we put all the frogs we've caught in a bucket and jab at them with sticks. We are here to shoot down everything you once believed.

Bad analogy is bad.

Simple enough, if the person would rather listen to us instead of his/her self as to what he/she should or should not listen to, that's his/her own fault.
