I want the 5th Beatle. All of them. Yoko, Linda, Clapton, Pete, Stu, Neal, Derek, George, Muhammad Ali, Billy, Murry, Tony, Jeff, Fake Paul, Brain, James, Brian, and any others to make a cameo or mention in the game.

Yeah, seriously, if they've got Get Back on there, shouldn't it be The Beatles with Billy Preston colon Rock Band?
But in all seriousness, I was just watching him rock the eff out on the first episode of Saturday Night Live--Nothing From Nothing would be an amazing Rock Band song. So would At Seventeen, also performed on that ep.

There were numerous "fifth Beatles" throughout their career and I imagine that's a can of worms they just decided was best to remain closed. In my opinion, the only additional person that should be in the game is Sir George Martin, he was truly the fifth Beatle and could be easily shown in the studio scenes later on in the game. Again, a complicated issue so it was probably decided it was best to leave all additional folks out.
Anyways, this is Beatles Rock Band, not Beatles and Friends Rock Band.

This (^) sums up why this game is going to be better than any of the other band games out currently.

That is exactly right. This game should be Ringo, Paul, John, and George... thats it!
Make it a Beatles only game and it will be absolutely brilliant!

Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best were in The Beatles, too. I wouldn't mind if they were in, especially if the Hamburg days of The Beatles were covered (apparently they won't be but it's a key time period for the band).

Yeah, this would make sense, but they aren't on any of the recordings... except maybe "Please, Please, Me" and one or two others. And I think those only have Pete Best on drums. I could be wrong. Can anyone clarify this? It's possible that "Please, Please, Me" may be left off for this very reason (speculation of course).

I'd laugh if I got to play as Yoko.
That would be really interesting, actually.

Yeah, it would be nice if they could've started in Hamburg, but I don't think there are any recordings from that era (and if there are, they are probably poor quality). Also in those days they were more a back-up band for Tony Sheridan.
I think starting in Liverpool is great because that's when they became headliners.

True, but if HMX want to give us a complete Beatles experience, that should include their early days. And there are many recordings that feature Stu and Pete on Anthology 1 and many more in the vault I'm sure.

I think this video proves why they started the game in Liverpool:

Watch to the end.
Random guys: We want Pete!
Random girls: RINGO!!!

But the game follows their career starting in 1963 though so adding Pete wouldnt make any sense. If it was 1962 then you might have something.

I think they are holding on to the older stuff for Rock Band: Johnny and the Moondogs

There's plenty of early stuff on Anthology 1 but the quality is mostly poor and they've no film to use to go with it. It would have been great to see them in Hamburg in the game if there had been good quality recordings of the tracks.

When The beatles went to the USA in February 1964 a promotional photoshoot was set up with Cassius Clay who was about to fight Sonny Liston for the heavyweight title.

Pete sucked, thats why he wasn't a Beatle. Ringo was on Please, Please Me.
Billy Preston is the one that is commonly refered to as the 5th Beatle. And Yoko was NEVER a Beatle, NEVER! No matter what Sean Lennon was lead to believe when he was 5. NEVER!!

I can see Billy Preston in the game because John wanted to make him a full-fledged Beatle and to permanently join the band. But Paul said "It's bad enough with four Beatles. It was during the period of time when they were fighting a lot and around the time they broke up. Theres a great article in this months Rolling Stone about what lead to The Beatles break up.

This.
But to everyone else, this is simply a made for Beatles game. The Fab Four. If they included all the other fifth Beatles out there, it would get kind of crazy. There's hope though, this game seems like a Beatles entertainment/education experience... Paul was talking about little snippets and Dhani talked about stuff that has never been seen or heard before. I would be surprised if they didn't mention some of these fifth Beatles, especially in the loading screen; like mention Billy Preston when playing on the Rooftop, mention Eric Clapton before you play While My Guitar Gently Weeps, mention George Martin on songs where he played a major role, or as a session musician (Martin conducted the orchestra for She's Leaving Home, and he played many main instruments in Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite), or mention any of the Beatles wives and which songs were written about them, or if they participated in a song.

If they wanted to give us a truly "complete" experience then Chapman would be in the game. I don't want a complete experience. I want a quintessential experience, and it seems that's what they've made. One vote here for "very glad they didn't put in anyone else".

John wasn't in The Beatles when he was shot. And the game will definitely cover George and John's death, they just won't go too in-detail.

I didn't mean to be taken that literally ... my point is that in a project like this, they could have taken it to any arbitrary level of completeness. In theory, since the characters are CG, they could for example have started with a 5-year-old Paul popping Christmas crackers with mummy and daddy.
Yes, that would be ridiculous, but I'm just trying to say that given all the creative freedom afforded by modern editing and rendering technology, I'm glad they stuck to the core essence of who and what The Beatles are. Adding Billy might have been nice for the hard-core fans, but for an effort like this that is intended to be universal and accessible, we don't need that (and in fact it would have been detrimental).
And what makes you so certain they will cover the deaths? Not only does this seem to contradict your first sentence, but it would be detrimental to the "celebration experience" that I think TB:RB is trying to achieve. Did I miss something indicating that the game is going to end on a downer?

The ending cinematic has been hailed by some Harmonix employees as the Brian's Song of video games, so yeah, it will be sad.
