Today while going to play Rockband 2 i noticed that all the songs from the original rockband which i had imported and also all the dlc songs had gone missing? has this happened to anyone else and could it just possibly be a loading error

If on the 360, you probably are trying to play offline and changed consoles (RRoD) since the export. Your licenses are valid only when connected to Live or on the original console that was used to buy them.

If that's the case, you can transfer them using the Licenses Transfer tool (http://www.xbox.com/support/systemuse/xbox360/licensemigration/)
