Anyone else dent a drum head yet?

I was playing the drums yesterday, not playing any harder or faster than any other time. I dented my high hat head and I was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem. It still works but kinda bummed me out that it was that easy to dent.

I have a dimple in the exact middle of my green pad. It looks more like something thats under it is being pushed up.

Maybe you just naturally hit it hard.. I have two theories.

A: You ate your wheaties this morning
B: Your hit it to hard and hurt it's feelings.

No, shortly after I got my drums, I did this:

Used a couple of $2 mouse pads and some adhesive felt that I read from another thread. Works like a charm.

Ya I am going to use the foam and felt technique when I get home for break, but I was just bummed that it happened a week before I could cover them.

I've got a dent in the middle of my yellow drum too, after only a week of casual play. The switch still works, but I'm worried that more play will damage it further. I live in Canada too, and bought my copy on ebay, so I have to wait 'til the 20th before I can do anything about it. The rubber/felt thing looks like it'll fix that, so if and when I get my replacement set I'll be doing that ASAP.

After reading your post i checked mine. Found a big dent in the middle of my yellow pad, took it off and it's cracked. I've been playing normal too, not beating on them or anything. 10 minutes ago I sit down to play and half way through a song put a hole in the rubber where the dent was. Great. Hope they still take them back.
