Rock Band Bundle PS2 Release Date?

Does anyone know the exact date when the ps2 bundle comes out because ive been looking at different websites and there are many different things,

I already pre-ordered mine at gamestop and now i looked at their website and they dont even show the ps2 bundle

I was told when i preordered it that it would ship on the 11th but now i believe that date was changed to the 18th

Can anyone give me a definite answer or any comments please?

Edit: I called my local gamestop today around 10:42 and they said that they were supposed to be there at 10 but they didnt get any and to check back later...i called about an hour later and they said they got a call from their supplier saying that it had been delayed and was guaranteed to be there by friday the 21st

The last official date was December 18th. This is pure speculation, but since retailers don't seem to have a clue when it's actually coming out, and the launch is almost one week away, I'm guessing it's been delayed.

Wasn't the release date announced on the news page (midway through DLC announcement) of 12/18?

If it comes out earlier I sure won't complain, but i don't think that's the case.

If nothing else, the PS2 version isn't getting much press or love from Harmonix, but hey, I guess I'm happy I don't need to spend an extra $400-500 + to play the game.

So did you order the bundle or just the game? If that Gamestop employee actually knew what he was talking about, and you ordered the bundle, then it's not delayed, it's actually coming out earlier than the last official press release said it would. Either way, if you get your hands on a PS2 bundle let us know asap, I was not expecting it to be out for at least another week!

I just got off the phone with my local GameStop; told they're getting the bundle on the 19th. Everything is getting released oddly this year. Sunday releases, Wednesday (halloween) releases... etc. What happened to Monday release date, Tuesday pickup?

Guess we have another week to wait till we can rock out.

Ok here is the latest for me. I have been on the phone most of the morning, with best buy, circuit city, gamestop and every store in chattanooga that sells games. Out of the several that i have spoken with they all state the bundle will be out tomm and the game only on the 18th, go figure. I reserved the bundle on nov 20th, the gamestop i reserved with swears up and down that it will be there tomm, shipped today and will be there in the morning. Oh well guess we will see in the morning! I will let all know asap!

There's wayyy too much confusion going on about this game...and it really sucks that Harmonix isnt paying more attention to the lesser title...being a PS2 version....poor marketing I say. Anyways, I'll be ultra disappointed if i can't get this game tomorrow....I'm not a fan of waiting an extra week for a game I've already waited ages for...Though I'm sure it'll all be worth it...Guess We'll all just have to wait and see:rolleyes:

Sorry for the confusion. We have 2 best buy stores in chattanooga. one is a smaller store, doesnt carry furniture and things of that nature. then the BIG one, she stated since its a special edition that the bigger store would get it first.

Gamestop's website doesn't list the PS2 Bundle at ALL, plus it's listing the PS3 and Xbox360 versions as shipping 1/02/08.

i dont realy think toys are us realy knows anything... they sell games but it is mostly a toy store however best buy and gamestop are electronics stores so i think what they say should be taken over toys r us

i just hope that it gets shipped before christmas, i dont care if it is delayed a FEW days as long as it gets to me

toys r us didn't know anything about the Wii Zapper before it came out. all 5 of the people i talked to there had no clue what i was even talking about. i wouldn't listen to anything anyone from toys r us says about video games.

I was at walmart and noticed a piece of paper put up on the game case that mentioned the PS2 bundle. I don't remember the exact words but it basically said: "The circular for December 16th advertised rock band for PS2 but they didn't have it because it was delayed." Sorry my phone doesn't have a camera on it or I would have snapped a picture :P.

I'm not sure if that means Walmart thought it was coming out today or on the 18th. If they thought it was coming out the 18th (so they would have had it the week of the 16th), and it's been delayed further, that sucks. Well i just spoke with gamestop this am. He stated they recieved the GAME ONLY! NO BUNDLE! Somebody needs to get there head on straight. Why would you release something that requires vocals. drums! and just release the game only. Just doesnt make any sense.

Gamestop told me they didn't get anything (bundle or game), and that hopefully on Dec. 18 they'll get them

I also called two Best Buys (both were extremely helpful, moreso than usual when you call Best Buy during the busy holiday season).

- One Best Buy said the release date in her computer said today but that they had no copies and that she thinks the date was a mistake. She said to check back on the 18th.

- The second Best Buy said it should be in on the 18th.

I'm relatively certain that the standard (game-only) Rock Band for PS2 WILL be in most stores by the end of next week. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if the bundle was delayed till January, or even indefinately.

The fact that no store's computers show the bundle is a bad sign, especially for a game that's supposed to be out in 6 or 7 days.

There are mics available from Logitech, for games like Singstar, however not sure about the compatibility with RockBand. And if the guitars from Guitar Hero work, then the only thing we'll be short is the drums. Which for me, is THE ONLY reason for buying this game. If I can't drum, I'm not buying this game.

I've had this game on order from Gamestop for over a month, and not only has the release date changed (not Gamestop's fault), but now, as noted above, the bundle is no longer even listed on their site! Just the game only.

Why hasn't anyone from Harmonix responded to the PS2 release date? Why haven't there been any press releases or just a basic news posting? The lack of ANY information from official sources is the most frustrating aspect of waiting. Someone, please, just TELL US what the facts.

I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that the bundle will not be available on the 18th.

I just got off the phone with Amazon customer service. They told me that because I preordered on Nov 30th, that my PS2 bundle has a reserve status on it. They are no longer taking preorders because the merchant(Target) has run out of stock. The woman kindly reassured me that i would recieve my bundle before christmas, but could not give me an exact date on when. My Amazon order still says estimated to ship on Dec 11th, but that has come and gone and still no update, when I asked why? She told me that untill the merchant gives them updated info, then they will update the shipping dates. Still no one can tell me for sure when the actual release date is! God I hope it is next week!:mad::confused::mad::confused:

I really wish Harmonix would at least give us some kind of info.

Here's another update. Just got off the phone with Best buy in Manchester, CT. After seeing that the game only was available for instore pickup, I immediatly called up to make sure this was true. I spoke with a sales rep who checked in the inventory system, and sure enough they have the game only (no bundle). This boggles my mind!!! Seeing as I already preordered the bundle from Amazon.com, and was reassured I would get one, (see my previous post) I don't understand why the game only would be released without all of the instruments. What do they expect? We only want the game to play guitar?
I guess all of us Playstation owners 2 and 3 need some kind of explanation from someone?
With the PS3 GH3 guitar not being compatible with the PS3 version of Rockband I wouldn't be surprised to see that the PS2 GH guitars aren't compatible with the PS2 version either. That doesn't mean the PS2 bundle is never coming out. They just don't have it yet. And frankly, I'm skeptical that they even have the standalone game. I wouldn't necessarily believe it until somebody actually sees it with their eyes and buys it.

I have still yet to see an official thread or press release or anything official for that matter on a release date for either the game or the bundle. I will keep my faith in Amazon that they will ship the bundle out and it will hopefully arrive next week. As for the Best Buy post, after reading your reply I called them back and the sales rep said yes we have it, I just sold 4 copies of the game, and have been looking at them all morning. As for the GH guitar compatibilty, he couldn't tell me cause they only have a playable version for the XBOX360. Guess we will never know.

Update:

I tried in-store pickup for the game only online, and now a few (not all) of my local Best Buys have it available for in-store pickup (this morning, none had it available). When I called the store, they said they didn't have the game, but if it's available for in-store pickup, then they have to. She also told me the bundle is expected the 18th.

I also called 2 Gamestops. One said they have the standalone game, the other didn't. Both said the bundle is set for next week.

I'm just happy the game is, in fact, available and that it exists. I was worried it would never come out. Hopefully the bundle follows suit shortly.

Of local Gamestops, one said they didn't get in any copies of the bundle and they wouldn't be getting any in. The next one said the bundle was pushed back to next, as did the third one I called. Then I called back the first Gamestop who essentially said that the other two Gamestops were lying.

i very much want to know what's going on with the PS2 version of the game, as i'm thinking about getting it for my dad for Christmas. i have the game for 360 already, but he doesn't have a 360, he has a PS2. what i don't want, however, is to have to wade through the wah-waah boo-hoo *****-baby posts like your's when i'm trying to get to some real information.

I guess getting game information from retail outlets really is useless, since most of them know less than we do in today's keep-it-secret-without-press-releases world.
