Is anyone else having problems with their rockband guitar cutting out notes. I know that it isn't lag because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. It is just that when it doesn't work I'll hit the notes perfectly but it will cut them short. Anyone know what this is?

I am having the issue with cutting out notes. I do not think it is the strum bar, since this on my replacement guitar from EA. On the first guitar you could feel the missed note in the mushy strum bar. This bar still has the same feel but on long consecutive notes (like on Paranoid), every eighth or ninth note would be missed. Other members of my family have the same issues to a varying degree. Overall we are very unhappy with the guitar and all of its issues.

Part of what you are seeing might be from the way the new strum bar triggers. It triggers the new hit near the center of the strum, instead of near the edge. This can cause you to strum early if you expect the strum to happen at the end of the strum bar's throw, especially on fast notes. Try making an adjustment accordingly to see if th issue clears up.

I'm experiencing the same problems...not just on the Rock Band controller but on the Guitar hero wired and wireless guitars as well. I did the sync options, and although I hit every note perfect, it's only when long note streaks does it miss, not just some...but a lot, even though I know I'm in sync. Happening to all my other band mates as well.

I just got my Rockband yesterday and the strummer doesnt work when you strum down. Sometimes it will pick up notes but even then, it will cut some off short! It worked fine the first few hours i got the game, but a day later and it's not working well. I am now just strumming up, in which it works fine. More people having this problem???:confused:well, where can I find info about ordering a replacement guitar from EA...and does it cost anything??I think this is rediculous!!!

You can get a warranty replacement free of charge by calling EA or visiting their support website. The contact information is in a sticky in the main Rock Band section of the forums.

I am having the exact same problem. I am using my guitar hero 3 wireless controller for my xbox 360 (I'm not using the Rock Band guitar because the tilt sensor does not work, and I'm waiting for a replacement).
I know there is no problem with the guitar hero controller because it works great for guitar hero 2 and 3. But like you said, I seem to be inexplicably missing notes whenever there is a long streak of the same note consecutively. I am convinced that I am hitting the notes and the game is just not recognizing it. I hit the first 6 or 7 then one will miss, then I hit the next 6 or 7 and again, on will miss.
This is really frustrating. Is this just a calibration issue? How have others fixed this problem?
Replacement guitar came pretty quickly when we reported the strumming going out on our first guitar. Less than a week, I'd say, and that was in December - pretty impressive, I thought.
It comes with instructions and RMA to ship the other guitar back at no cost to you within 30 days.
The new guitar is much, much better, but still, I seem to have some problems with the up/down for "crushing fast note streams" so I'm ANXIOUSLY awaiting the wireless guitars (now projected for April?!?! Boo!).
Don't wait! Order your replacement guitar immediately, because it won't be long until you can't strum ANY notes.
