All I ask for is to play the solo at the end. I think It is one of the best written solos of all time. The feeling of it fits the song perfectly. I think this is my most wanted now that metallica is in the game... oh albums this is game is going to kick too much ASS! Cant wait!

Your options suck. I love Pink Floyd, but Comfortably Numb would be horrible for Rock Band because it is sooo slow-paced and there's not even any guitar for the first two minutes. That's all keyboard. And after a short burst of guitar solo, there's no more guitar until the last minute or so. That is two minutes and thirty seconds worth of guitar in a six minute song. Not good. And I'm pretty sure there's very little bass/rhythm too.
There should be a third option: "Hell no, Pink Floyd song X is better."
Let me list some songs that would be way better for Rock Band than Comfortably Numb:
Lucifer Sam (Piper at the Gates of Dawn)
Young Lust (The Wall)
Hey You (The Wall)
Time (Dark Side of the Moon)
Dogs (Animals)
In the Flesh (The Wall)
Echoes (Meddle)
Pigs (Three Different Ones) (Animals)
Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 1 (The Wall)
Sheep (Animals)

Hey i can agree with you on that bro. I would love Comfortably Numb to be in the game too, but there are diffenetly better choices to choose from. i would love Money, Another Brick in the Wall part 1 or 2, Echoes, Time, One of these Days, Young Lust, etc. floyd has some kick ass tunes for this game

As soon as we get confirmation that Tool is involved in Rock Band somehow (hopefully with many, many DLC songs) I will then take up the crusade to get Pink Floyd in.
Priorities though...ugh, so much work ahead of me...

Maybe on the original master for the Wall, but the song has been performed many times with guitar used for the verse/chorus. The Delicate Sound of Thunder performance is but one example.
Yes, the slow pace works against it, but this is no different from playing through a few minutes of slow stuff in Freebird to get to the good parts.
And I'm pretty sure there's very little bass/rhythm too.
There's plenty of bass. It's slow and repetitive, but it's got great hook. Who doesn't want to be that guy who does the descending "BUM... BUM BUM BUM" during the good parts?
Let me list some songs that would be way better for Rock Band than Comfortably Numb:
Lucifer Sam (Piper at the Gates of Dawn)
Hey You (The Wall)
Time (Dark Side of the Moon)
Agreed. Very, very good choices. Everyone would be fighting to do the opening drum solo of Time.
Young Lust (The Wall)
Pigs (Three Different Ones) (Animals)
These work fine in terms of the parts, but I just don't like these songs very much.
In the Flesh (The Wall)
I keep seeing this song come up over and over again. Come on. In the Flesh works great as part of The Wall, but out of context this thing is a disaster. Who really wants Harmonix to be encouraging a bunch of 12-year-olds that have never heard of Pink Floyd to be singing about killing the '*****s' and the 'coons'?
Dogs (Animals)
Sheep (Animals)
Only as DLC. Good songs ( I really love Sheep), but you know the problem here. People will accept a 10+ minute track for Won't Get Fooled Again, Freebird, or Comfortably Numb with extended solo, but not for these two.
Echoes (Meddle)
Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 1 (The Wall)
Really? You complained about Comfortably Numb being too slow for most of the song, and then you came up with these two?

I don't see how you could say no to this.

I suppose that's true, but you just know Harmonix will get a lot of complaints of a bad cover if they choose the obscure performance. (Not that I'd be complaining. Comfortably Numb is a good song, but I'd rather have something that fits Rock Band better by Floyd)
And Comfortably Numb isn't really like Freebird. In Freebird, you play through moderate parts to get to the insane parts. In Numb, you play through slow parts to get to the moderate parts.

I don't. I'd rather be the guy screaming "You better watch out! There may be dogs about!" or the guy who plays the drums or guitar in Lucifer Sam.

I know I would.

To each his own, I suppose. I'd want Pigs just to do the vocals during "Haha, charade you are."

I really should have thought of this. I feel like a total dick now.

At least we agree they're good songs. But you're probably right about the average customer's reaction.
Really? You complained about Comfortably Numb being too slow for most of the song, and then you came up with these two?
That's a fair point. But my main issue with CN was lack of guitar for the majority of the song. These are a good deal more consistent. I guess ABitW Pt. 2 or 3 would be a better fit, I just personally prefer part 1 out of the three. And maybe swap Echoes for Learning to Fly (A Momentary Lapse of Reason), Take it Back (The Division Bell) or Lost for Words (The Division Bell)
I guess that Comfortably Numb isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but there are still plenty of Floyd songs I'd prefer.
