well as a real drummer ive been finding rock band hard to play on expert mode mostly because of the base pedal. i play heels up in real life and that only leads to a broken pedal. this pedal works best while played heels down. the only way i have discovered to play heels down is to hang your toes over the front or top edge and your heel being close to the middle/bottom area. this gives me leverage and less distance to travel. figure out where your heel can go without putting too much weight on the pedal pushing it down. another tip i have found is while playing the drums, concentrate on the bass pedal only. the other hands/colors will play natural. what i mean by this is , you can see the other note and get the feeling of what there asking by listening to the music. the feet are the hardest part. this method really works great when your in a hi-hat / snare groove and cymbal hits here and there. anyways i hope this helps some people. it has worked for me. good luck and please share your tips.
