I think some Christian music would be fun in this game. I am referring to bands such as: Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, and Switchfoot.

The only Christian band I could EVER see myself wanting to play is Demon Hunter.

Instead of Christian music, we could get REAL music. That would be better on HMX's part. I mean this is a music game.

Stop with the Christian band threads....They all suck.

i dont think all christian bands suck. i think alot of them are actually pretty good(august burns red, project 86, destroy the runner, etc). its just that you should put out songs for them being good music, rather than them being christian. that doesn't mean you CANT include christian rock though.

Why does the fact that the Word Christian offends so many of you.
I mean if I said they should put more death metal in, you would understand what I'm taking about, sme for RAP, hip hop, country, and yes Christian. Stop getting so offened, if your so sure God doesn't exist, and you have no reason to convert, then hearing someone say Chritian Rock, shouldn't get you all upset.

I bet some of you would be cry censorship if the whore was taken out of IN BLOOM, would you. So back off trying to censor Christian our of Christian Rock.

people don't want to admit it's a genre.

if someone suggested straight edge hardcore, would anyone freak out because it's a specific type of hardcore music.

Although highly unlikely to ever be released, I wouldn't mind playing Soldiers Under Command by Stryper.

Maybe if they released a 80s hair metal DLC pack...

Why is it highly unlikely?

Because with all the other polls and DLC requests, I think Stryper would be very, very low on the list that HMX would ever consider putting them in this game. I think they would rather go after Led Zep and AC/DC then to put a band like Stryper in. Unless of course, there is a Rock Band: Rocks the 80s!

Christian or not, Stryper has some great riffs!!!

it's because wanting christian music in the game is saying that you want to gain members of your religion through a game. putting in music because its good is fine, but putting music in because it's christian is retarted.

let's all follow this guy and stick to the secular. down with Christian music, more satan worship music...

rock band can have anti-christian music. and christians don't complain about it. if it was anti-jewish. it would be a hate crime. just would like some good bands, that would also happen to be christian.

THATS MY POINT. i have a problem with people suggesting music because its christian. what i dont have a problem with is christian bands. i'm all for christian music as long as it's good music. SUGGEST MUSIC BECAUSE OF IT BEING GOOD MUSIC, NOT BECAUSE OF ITS MESSAGE.

I'm a firm atheist, but also a fan of good music. In my opinion, the problem with "Christian rock" is that it's often outclassed by its secular peers who let artistry (as opposed to belief) come first in their music. Additionally, the whole name of the "genre" is annoying. Should we classify all music by the creator's religious affiliation? There's no such thing as Satanist ska or Buddhist country, and it's because music is classified on its sound, not its message. Belief has nothing to do with a song's aesthetic qualities, and honestly the best Christian bands tend to be those who artfully display their message instead of slamming it down your throat like you're too thick to infer what they're saying. Flyleaf is an example of a good Christian band, producing music that is entertaining to both Christians and those of other faiths or no faith at all.

There are several Christian bands I wouldn't mind seeing on Rock Band, and might even download, but including them in the game simply because they're Christian makes as much sense as including bands full of Muslims or bands full of atheists solely because of their beliefs. As long as the music is good it shouldn't matter.

Okay, listen. I am a Christian (Methodist, if you want to be specific). I personally do not care for Christian music, for the most part. The only Christian album at all in my whole music library is the lone Leeland album that a friend sent me to listen to one day (which I rarely, if ever do). I used to listen to Christian rock when I was younger, before my listening life began, but I eventually decided I thought it was too processed, and not very melodic. It's either overplayed, over-poppy, or overly simplified. I'm not saying they CAN'T be good, I just don't really have any of them I am really into. If I want a message, I read the Word.

I belong to the camp of "If it is good music, let it speak for itself". A band's religion should not be the success-deciding or genre-setting factor of its career: It should merely set the topic of their songs, and the general mood. Bands are set by their moods (just as Beatles for love songs, Nirvana for angst, or Rush for individualism, Devo for declining society, etc.). I don't tote my Led Zep collection as my "occultist rock" simply because Jimmy was interested in that, I just call it Hard Rock, because that is what it IS. The MUSIC should be listened to for what it is worth, and the message to be listened to for what it is worth. Most of the time, I spend too long trying to learn how to digest the music and enjoy it, that I don't even pay attention to the message itself at all, thus defeating the purpose. And if their own music is a stumbling block that keeps people from being reached, there is a serious problem.

Since Christian Rock reaches a mainly small market, meaning it most likely wouldn'tsell as well as secular, which Christians, atheists, muslims, etc. can enjoy alike. If they can find an artist with Christian lyrics that will sell well, BY ALL MEANS, put it on Marketplace.

Isn't religion great? How it brings us all together?

Within the UK, Christian rock is not something that gets airplay, nor would it on the basis of christian rock. Songs may well get airplay for being good songs though (well, a few duffers get on!). If a track is good enough for RB on the merit of the tune itself, why not create a setlist thread that at no stage mentions Christianity, just the bands you'd like to see on RB? That way

a) If anyone posts saying'Why have you chosen only christian bands?', you have the right to say you never brought the subject of religion up.

b) It'll save your thread being locked (as all the christian rock ones eventually are) due to flaming and childish comments which whilst they haven't emerged yet, will do eventually.

My thoughts? I don't think it fair for HMX to be brought into a potential situation where it has to defend itself for choosing one religious denomination over another. Leave religion out of the game altogether. If it's good music, it's in. It doesn't have to be branded as a christian rock pack though.

As for whether people enjoy christian music. Obviously they do. Therefore, I see no point in people saying it sucks. Get over it.

well then, it must just be oddly coincidential that all the bands listed are christian. christian music covers a wide range of genres and i dont see why any secular bands werent listed. you can't even try to say that those bands were put in for being good music rather than for being christian. there are many similar(and better) bands of those genres, and that is one shocking coincidence if he didn't care about them being christian or not, and put in only the songs he liked.
