My aerosmith guitars wont work on rockbands for PS3

Ok, i just bought the drum-kit and the game -rock-bands- for PS3 console, BUT. when i got home and got the game going etc. i found out that i could do everything as the drummer. and found out that when i was trying to join with my guitar i couldnt. cuz it said i had NOT inserted my michrophone and i needed that to play the game as a vocalist.. but the thing is.. i dont have a mic, i only got 2 aerosmith guitars and the rockband drum-kit. the aerosmith guitars worked on gutar-hero/metallica but not on rockbands.. is this the guitars thats making the problem? or is it something else? PLEASE HELP!!:eek::eek::eek::confused::confused::confused :

i can only move around and click in the outer section of choise opportunitys in the game. i cant join the solo thing. it only comes up that i dont have a microphone inserted and i MUST have it inserted to play the game as a vocalist.. but i dont even have a microphone. so i dont really know what to do. tried to change batteries and stuff like that, reseting the console etc. but nothing works:'( so if some1 could help me fast that would be GREAT!:)

yes i do. well it didnt come up when i started game the first time that i needed an update so ill check it right now.

i just tried to update my system via ethernet but it says i have the latest update, so that cant be the problem. u know anything else?

Are you using a regular system controller to go through the menus? If that's the case, it thinks you're trying to play as a vocalist, as the microphone is linked to a controller for menu control and song selection. Use the drums or guitar to navigate the menus instead.

no thats the weird thing, i can navigate through the menus with the drumms, and thei work. i can do solo career with the drumms and play for 20 hours in a row or so. i can also navigate THROUGH the menus with the guitar, and the guitar is the one im using to navigate. but when i try to enter anything it comes up a microphone aint inserted and i gotta insert it to play the game as an vocalist.

I have done that, navigated through the stuff and into band career, and i can join the band with the drumms but when the guitars are inserted, it says the guitars are microphones. and when i click continue with the guitar it come up: you havent inserted you microphone. please insert it to play the game as a vocalist..
