According to an Activision survey, a paid Call of Duty service would "enhance the multiplayer experience and provide exclusive access to a group of gameplay enhancements".
Those enhancements include things like early access to betas and expansions, exclusive character skins, exclusive game modes, better stat tracking as well as competitive play support.
Does that mean we'll have to pay a fee for Modern Warfare 2? The game's developer, Infinity Ward, states, "This rumor has absolutely nothing to do with Infinity Ward or our games, including Modern Warfare 2. We would never introduce such a system for Modern Warfare 2 so don't worry."
Phew. Okay then, we'll just worry about the other CoD developer, Treyarch, putting a paid service in its next Call of Duty.
"We're safe, but for now long?"

Yeah, Infinity Ward won't make you pay, but the ****s at Activision will.
I don't play CoD, but this is just wrong.

Go Infinity!
BTW speaking of this, as doubtful as it is, I want custom charactors for MW2 multiplayer AND co-op.

I think DC Universe might be the first game to try it. The problem is people will do it. If everyone stood up and said screw you this nickle and diming crap would stop.
$60 for the game, $10 for some maps, $10 for some more maps.
I pay $50 a year to xbox to get these nice gameplay extras.

Makes sense since IW's games don't carry the "Call Of Duty" Tag anymore. Unless you guys forgot that.
