This past month I've been learning guitar; Acoustic and Electric, its been fun but the problem is i cant really see if the tab im using is correct since im just a beginner, some tabs are also not rated and have no comments so its hard to get a read on it. So i had this idea.
The basic premise is that experienced guitar players can help out the newbs by finding good tabs. The newbs will request songs then the experienced guitar players will look for the tab and post it here.
I was thinking, if this thread will take off and their will be a lot of requests i could arrange it like this and if it gets big enough this would be a place where you could just find the correct tabs, no hassle.
Hell, if you make/made your own tabs we could try it out
Confirmed
Electric Guitar
1. Smooth Criminal ( Alien Ant Farm Cover- ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHCRQSDkRTI
2.
3.
Acoustic Guitar
Not yet Confirmed

Video Lessons.
1. Smooth Criminal ( Alien Ant Farm Cover- ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHCRQSDkRTI
2.
3.
To confirm a song, maybe 2 or 3 posters will also have to agree that the tab is correct.
I am sorry if i come off as lazy, im really not, its just hard finding the right tabs, some of them have a good rating but just doesnt sound right.
I also placed this in the Rock Band forum because im sure a lot of rock band songs will be requested.

ultimate-guitar.com has plenty of tabs for guitar/bass, as well as reviews that usually tell you whether they're accurate or not, or close enough...even some video lessons.
for beginner video lessons, i suggest justinguitar.com, or freeandeasyguitar.com

Yeah, ultimate-guitar is the main place i go to for tabs but there's a lot of songs that have little or no comments and hardly any ratings, a 5 star is good but when you see only 3 people voted its kinda hard to trust. thanks for both links though will check it tomorrow, its 12 am here.
but my vision (lol) of this thread was for a huge compilation of songs where you could just click and get a tab thats certified good by the public

I did a video for smooth criminal a while back:

I'd be willing to more if there was interest.

Subscribe to Guitar World mag. Make sure your getting the cd with it.
Andy Aldort is the main teacher for them and they have guest artist that show you how to play their songs personally. You can get past issues as well. I have been getting these since '86 when Guitar for the Practicing Musician was the main tab guitar mag. I saved every issue.
What is really cool is the addition of cd/videos that accompany a lot of them in recent years. This makes it so much easier to learn.
Good luck and remember warm up with scales, rehearse songs your already learning, then go into new stuff. This type of practice will improve your playing. Players who just noodle on easy stuff they already know and dont challenge themseves, will never improve their skills. Spend at least an hour a day developing your skills.

Great video but your missing some things.
1. I can see that before you do the riff of the verse you do something there but i cant really see it.
2. Your transition from the pre-chorus to the main chorus is really good but i you never said what it is nor in the tab.
3. The Solo, in UG.com theres like 10 tabs and they have different solos. Need help on this :D
Thanks, i never knew that song was so easy, it's one of my favorite rb songs to play on guitar(primarily a drummer).
@karmalord, i dont live in america so im pretty sure they wont ship here in the Philippines, please correct me though if im wrong

Learning some music theory (However you go about that) helps a lot in figuring out which tabs right, too, or whats wrong with them.

I wish i could, but there's no one near me who can teach me this and from what i've seen online is that you have to pay to learn and i dont have a credit card.
Might as well request songs...
All Mixed Up - The Cars
Revolution - Beatles
Cant find the lead for All Mixed Up
