Help! Hiccups!

What is the best way to get rid of the hiccups? I've had them the past few hours and they won't go away. I've done everything. Water, sugar, held breath and still nothing. Any other ideas?

Get someone to scare you, or try a mouthful of lemon juice.

You need to drink a glass of water while holding your breath, then continue to hold it once you can't drink any more or you finish it. That's what always works for me.

Well hiccups are when your diaphragm gets out of sync with something else, so maybe try holding your breath for a short period of time and then let it out? I had the hiccups for 6 hours once in primary school and i know how painful it is so you have my sympathies...

Burping works for me most of the time, but if not...

Stand on one foot, hold your breath and swallow 3 times. It works, one of my teachers told someone in my class to do it and it worked and I've tried it a few times.
