Roy Harper did not write the lyrics or music for Have A Cigar, he only recorded the vocals in the studio because Roger Waters had strained his voice recording Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Roy Harper was recording down the hall at Abbey Road. Roger Waters is credited with writing the lyrics and the music for the track. If I'm right, what was "The Chicken Incident"?
Frank Zappa's correct. For anyone who doesn't know, The Chicken Incident is when Zappa was producing them. A chicken had wandered on stage and Alice thought "It's a bird, it should be able to fly." So he picks up the chicken and tosses it into the air expecting it to fly off. Instead it falls into the crowd which rips the chicken apart trying to get it.
The newspapers reported that Alice ate the head off the chicken. Frank calls Alice asking him if it's true. he says no and tells him the real story. Frank says 'Well, whatever you do, don't tell anyone you didn't do it."

If so, then here's my question:
In 1993, after the singer of Mayhem, Dead, killed himself for the 'dissolution' of Black Metal, Euronymous, the founder and lead guitarist was stabbed to death after production of "De Mysteriis Dom Santhanas" by this vocal replacement he brought in.

HardRockerBrazil

For what I read once, it came from a quirk made by Keith Moon when Jimmy Page tried to call him to join the then New Yardbirds. Moon said their new band would go down like a lead zeppelin. Page liked the name (because it combined heaviness and lightness, that are two qualities of his sound) and replaced New Yardbirds with Led Zeppelin (without the A in "lead" to make pronounciation easy).

"I'm A Rebel" was originally recorded by AC/DC during the Bonn Scott years but has gone unreleased (possibly due to subpar vocals due to Scott being very drunk at the time of recording).
It was covered by Accept on their 1980 album "I'm A Rebel".
The name of the author is George Alexander, which is a pseudonym for Alex Young the older brother of guitarist Angus Young, guitarist Malcolm Young and producer George Young. (How many bonus points is that worth?)

HardRockerBrazil
09-23-2007, 10:28 PM
Why does Roger Daltrey from The Who stutter while singing My Generation?
There are at least two versions to explain it.
One says that the song started out as a slow blues piece without the stuttering, but the song was remade (and speeded up) after inspiration from John Lee Hooker's "Stuttering Blues".
The other states that they wanted Roger Daltrey to sound like a drugged mod.
Really, it's hard to tell which of them is the true one.

just post the answer. it's obvious that no one knows the answer to your question. And, it doesn't surprise me that no one here has a clue about swedish metal :-) Hell, I live in Europe and have no clue :-)
so come on, enlighten us pleeeeeeze.
and then get on with my question :-)

There are at least two versions to explain it.
One says that the song started out as a slow blues piece without the stuttering, but the song was remade (and speeded up) after inspiration from John Lee Hooker's "Stuttering Blues".
The other states that they wanted Roger Daltrey to sound like a drugged mod.
Really, it's hard to tell which of them is the true one.
Next question:
Where did Smashing Pumpkins get their name from?
oops, forgot to answer this one:
Billy finally let the fans in on his reason for naming the band The Smashing Pumpkins at a radio show during The Sacred and Profane tour in '98. Fans of the band were allowed to sit in on the show and ask them questions. One fan asked Billy how he came up with the name. Turns out it was quite obvious. Billy claimed that when he was younger, he had heard a friend say during Halloween that he was going out and would be 'smashing pumpkins'. Billy just thought that was a good name for a band. In fact, long before he was ever in a band, he would tell friends that he was in a band called Smashing Pumpkins. So naturally, once he DID start a band of his own, that was what he named it. After the band became famous, however, Billy realized that fans were bringing pumpkins to shows and smashing them everywhere. This lead Billy to add 'The' to the band name so that the word 'Smashing' would be read like the British adjective, as he intended it. Thats how he came up with the band name. :)
My trivia question has already been posted.. to which no one has yet attempted to answer ;-)

lol @ swedish metal. you got the swedish part right
its paatos and morte macabre which has more than one member of landberk in it, and they actually formed it unlike dungen which is gustav's baby.

yes, it was Metallica, and yes it is from thier Live Sh*t Binge & Purge Album (of which I am the proud owner). It was sung/said by James as a fill in between Song 8 ("Justice Meledy") and song 9 "Solos (Bass/&Guitar)"
It was recorded on Feb 25th Live in Mexico City.
He said/sung this:
"A little beer for my throad.. maestro" as Jason brought him a beer, and begun playing his bass solo.. which by the way is fu*kin awesome! Jasons playing was a little spooky, so James added ( to the beat of the bass and after he took a big gulp of his beer) "Hail satan if you please muahahahahah.. BURRRRRP..... i'm just kiddin man...maybe...... So heres Jason and he's in a good mood so you better look the fu*k out. I think he wants to play a little bass for you is that all right? (yaaaaa from the crown) "NO I SAID IS IT ALL RIGHT!?!?!?! (YAAAAAA from the crowd) "**** yeah!"
so, you got some of it right, so you get the next question. :D

What fu*king wierd coincedences... check this out:
If you have been keeping up on this thread, you will have noticed that the last question was about Metallica, and that battle_axe and I had a little (short lived thank god) argument about Paatos who are an excelent swedish progressive rock band.....
Well, once on the subject of Metallica it's hard for me to get off it so I was doing some reading in wiki.. and check this out:
did you know, that today marks the 21st anneversary of Cliff Burtons death (27.Sep.1986)? Cliff was the bassist for Metallica who died in a tragic bus accident involving the whole band in guess where? SWEDEN!!
The guy that took Cliffs place as bassist was Jason Newstead who is very sadly no longer part of Metallica... really too bad.. but check this out.. he and I have the same birthdate March 3rd... allbeit two years apart but still.
I love such coincedences and sychronicities. :D
We all miss you Cliff and hope you are rocking the heavens and/or hells wherever you are!
