It's been thunderstorming hard today and after one thunder hit my Mom said "That was loud!" and I said "Yeah atleast the power hasn't gone ou..." Before I could say Out the power went out for 20 minutes...

I don't mind power outages but I'm in the middle of a BAD cold and I get bad coughs with just a little humidity right now... I'm dependant on our dehumidifyer right now which is useless with no power.

Try having satellite and your favorite soap is on, then it starts to drizzle and the picture goes all wonky.

Glad we have cable now. Oh wait we have comcast, so it's still pretty cruddy.

I hate people that do this, too. "Anyhoo" is a terribly misspelled version of "anywho", which itself is a bastardized Canadian version of the word "anyhow".

If you're going to correct someone's spelling, don't make stupid mistakes like that.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. Sometimes it doesn't even have to rain to lose the picture, but thankfully, we're on cable now too. :)

Also, we lose power a lot here. Couple of times a month, it seems like.

Yeah that seems to always happen to me. when that happens, I just grab a flashlight and a book until the power comes back on. Or just sleep.

I used to live on the same section of the grid as a major intersection, so power was never out for long during stormy/tropical weather. It takes nasty winter weather to knock it out for more than a day or two now, though I do miss being able to get power back within an hour. Usually it's out for less than a day for the worst storms regardless.
