This hasn't happened to me, but I don't check the date of my junkmail =P I get a lot, though. I see you're both using Yahoo! Mail, though. I use GMAil and may not have the same thing happen ^_~ Yahoo!'s just super advanced with their time machines and such.

Yeah. That's been sitting on my main box for the past 3 years. Never opened. Never deleted. It simply sits. And waits.

Gmail here... show 50 messages and it doesn't show exactly how many you have.

You are currently using 253 MB (4%) of your 5611 MB.

Hey, that's my birthday. I must have been given a time machine as a birthday present and decided to use it to spam you. Why, I don't know, but I'm sure it will make sense at the time.

My Yahoo account gets mail from 2038. You guys are just future posers :p

Fortunately it's mostly a honey-pot account, so I expect it to get spam.

If you have it all in the archive, it will tell you how many you have.

Jan 18th? That's MY birthday! Apparently, I'm also in this club of future time travelers who spam.
That aside, is this a common issue on Yahoo mail?

Not specifically. You can pick any information that you want for the e-mail header; including date, time, return address, From name, etc. Spammers will sometime pick these future dates so their messages are the "most recent" (aka have the largest date). Well, some spammers have taken this a little overboard
As far as with Yahoo, it seems a lot of my spam is just people guessing at random Yahoo addresses and keeping the ones that don't bounce. Their spam filter is alright, I guess. It catches more than it lets through. Just makes me glad my GMail is my primary account now

Is Jan. 18 national spam day in 2028? That's really good timing on all their parts.

I believe that is the maximum date allowed for e-mails, or it's just one spammer who likes that date :D

I hate how Yahoo doesn't give you a date received column and only offers the easily faked send date. If I get a legit email that is sent to the spam folder (Yahoo does this for just about all message board registration emails for some reason), I have to wade through pages of spam from the future to find the email I'm looking for. And no, you can't use search in your spam folder either.
