So your drums miss a beat every now and then when hitting long strings of notes? You've checked the plugs and their in tight, yet the problem remains. A quick lesson in the workings of the drums may help.

Basically by analizing that post it can be theorized that long note strings will register much better if you actually hit the drums softly.

It was something I've already concluded to myself empirically, but thank you for linking the science behind it. I mean it. It's some real interesting stuff :D

I read that loooooong article about the drumming thing, but couldn't find anything about the "duct tape method". Anyone care to shed some light?

press the pad(s) down about halfway. You know, when you put your hands on the pad and push it all the way in and close the gap around it, only go halfway. Duct tape it. Now the pad should register all your soft hits and from anywhere on the pad. Like it should be. Hope this helps...My foot pedal also broke along with my red and green pads. Duct tape fixed the pads great using this method. As for the foot pedal, I used the butterknife trick. Take a few butterknives, preferably with as flat of a handle as you can find, and lay them across your foot pedal, duct tape it! Makes it a little heavier also, so you don't have to stomp as hard. Hooray for duct tape. I guess!? This is ridiculous to have to take these kinds of measures.
