I wonder if they intended it to be that way.

They have stated that they did not and that they were appauled that people implied that they did.

I know, but I doubt they would say "yeah we put satanic messages in our song." That would make all the religious people start burning their albums and boycotting and stuff. Plus wasnt Page interested in black magic for a while.

That's probably one of the best formats that I've seen. It's really hard to believe that it would just accidentally come out that way. The lyrics almost make more sense backward than they do forward, even if they do sound satanic.

Btw, moving this to the General forum.

The way I tend to do these things is listen to them without any lyrical prompting to see if I can still pick it up easily. The first couple of sentences, yes, but after that, for me, it's a bit of a stretch.

It's like taking Duel of the Fates and hearing 'Corn on the Cob'.

Yeah, see, most of those I don't detect without seeing the reversed lyrics.

Actually most of those (Yoko Ono's for one) are really imaginative interpretations heh.

I'm glad they put the Pink Floyd one on, because that's a fairly clear cut case :p

Edit: And of course the ELO one.

You could find any phrase, lets say "I like *** men." Play it backwards. Makes some lyrics that sound like the backwards playback, make a song. It is possible and would account for some of their lyrics. (WTF? Spring clean for the May Queen)

Now, to say backwards lyrics have a subconcious impact is bollocks.
