View Full Version : Horrible Sound! Bad Sound Card or Dying Speakers?
Since I'm using VGA I've got my Xbox 360 audio connected to my sound card's line in so that I can play my audio through the same speakers I use on my PC.
However, there is a problem. The sound is fine, except for the guitar. Bass sounds good, sound quality isn't too bad with other games, but when I play the guitar, I get what I mistaked at first for "crowd noise" (after muting the crowd audio, I found out that it wasn't the problem). It makes what I would call a faint static noise.. but only during the guitar portions of the song.
Any idea if this might be a problem with my sound card, or just my speakers? Sadly, I can't find any replacement speakers to test.
Depending on the cables you are using, you may be experiencing poor connections due to low quality cables or even an issue where those cables are improperly shielded and causing interference. If you explain your cable setup a bit, it may help. Gold-Plated wiring connectors ensure great connection, as well as low interference... but you may have issues with the powersupply's emf screwing with your signal through the audio patchcords...
Hopefully this helps.
