In this episode all 5 regular hosts reunited for the first time in ages (John, Elliott, Rob, Mark, and Jed), and are joined by newly appointed permanent host Sean (Phr34k). We are also joined by Daniel (Mithin), John (Sushi111), and Cody (BreakManX)... Oh, and of course, did I mention HMXSean from Harmonix? We talk Rock Band for the entire episode, and you won't want to miss it. Also, check out the companion videos to this Rock Band edition-- Mr. Lemonade!! (Our Rock Band-Band, made up of John, Sean, Elliott, Rob, and Mithin), as we rock out at my place during No1ButUFest. Check out any and all videos under that user tagged with "www.starpowerpodcast.com" and "Mr. Lemonade". If you're an iTunes subscriber, you'll be getting 4 of our favourite vids in one package, which we've made part of our feed as a companion peice to this podcast. Enjoy!

Nothing against the guys that did the Podcast, but I've been listening for almost a half hour and it seems like HMXSean is barely getting time to talk. It seems more like some friends sitting around chatting about when they played the game, what songs they like and which guitar is better.
I'm picturing HMXSean just kind of sitting there looking around. He chimes in now and then, but then you guys seem to just go on talking without him. Poor Sean :(
I jumped ahead to the Q&A session where he seems a bit more lively, that's a little more like it :p

I skipped the first forty minutes, it was all a bunch of clowns talking gibberish about knowledge that everyone is already aware of.

what did they say about the patch for the ps3? I'm Going Postal. Guitar broke first week (like everyone else), replacement not here yet (like everyone else), and can not use GH guitars (like everyone else) because of the compatability issue (yah...patch coming soon...so is Jesus!). SOOO....?!?

Next time you're doing an interview, you should let him or her talk more openly without interruptions. Just a tip... :)

Have barely seen Sushi around since RB-Day. He's been hiding or just playing RB a lot.

Someone wanna summarize what new information was released in the podcast, if any? What about the questions posed on the board?
If not, I'll bite the bullet and subject myself to inane guitary rambling fanboys for 90 minutes to dig out the pertient info tonight or tomorrow. :)

But, honestly who can say one question they answered, we did not already know the answer too?
Thanks ;/

Yeah i was wondering if a transcript would be done for this podcast/Q&A...that’s often VERY telling as to who was 'carrying' the conversation and easiest to pluck out the nuggets of info.
Just a thought and NO, I wasn't volunteering! :P

imo the biggest information was the Scorehero score tracking- everything else was just "well maybe" "possibly" "we'll see what the future holds"
I don't know why you'd expect anything more- it's just cool to have a developer 'wrap with us for 2 hours

It was awesome to hang out with you guys as well. True - I didn't have any big news to break during the podcast. And if I stuttered and sputtered a lot I'd like to point out we recorded it after midnight on a Friday (well Saturday.... you get the idea) and had to get on a plane the next morning to do an on-air demo in NYC.
That said I would totally do it again. Maybe when I have some news to break or whatnot.

if Harmonix wants to give scorehero exclusive news (on the podcast this time lol) let's do it!

Haha, I know... :) One of you guys (not sure who) was giggling like a school girl the whole time, though. Just giving you a hard time. I was surprised at how many of you were not looking forward to RB... I mean, it's Harmonix! GH:80's and Antigrav are the only two mediocre games they've ever released.

I went into it with more of a business type listening attitude. Thought it was going to be a professional interview with question, then proceeds an answer.

Guys the podcast wasnt supposed to be for you to get tons of new Rock Band info. It was for a bunch of fans to talk about the fun they had with the game. It was for entertainment not educational purposes, and having Sean on was a blessing as it was amazing to talk with one of the people responsible for the product we all love so much

I think the problem was that there was a thread asking us to submit questions to be posed to HMX about the game... so, people came in hoping for answers. New rock band info, basically. If it was billed from day one as shooting the breeze instead of journalism then it'd be no big deal.
But, whatever; gamer podcasts are gamer podcasts, I find. :)

I'm listening to the podcast right now. Here are some of the highlights:
17 minute
So far almost all the guys from the podcasts have acknowledge that they had problems with their instruments and that they are either getting replacements or they are on their way.
18 minute
Canadian replacement woos
19 minute
HMX is saying that they had problems with early production units and that EA is sending replacements free of charge.
20 minute
Some guy said that the PS3 wireless guitar works flawless connection wise and mention something briefly about how would the other PS3 guitars work with Rock Band.
21 minute
Talks about the strats guitar. Some guy doesn't like it and prefers the Les Paul (one of the Seans doesn't like the Strat guitar??)
23 minute
More booing on the strat guitar
24 minute
Acknowledges that early strats had issues, but they were fixed in new ones.
27 minute
Talk about drums
28 minute
Fix for the drums with tape??? LOL
35 minute
Hints from HMX about improving your singing
I will be back with more after I get home.

I'm Back
42 minute
Suggestions about DLC One guy wants DLC based on the instruments so people know what they are getting into
50 minute
DLC requests for Avril Lavine and ultimately AeroSmith - Walk this way, which everybody seems to be excited.

I actually agree! This would be a cool song for Rock Band
51 minute
What are the changes of getting some foreign DLC in the future? They are thinking in releasing some local regional DLC packs when they release Rock Band in Europe, they also talked about getting some Mexico DLC and Canadian too.
57 minute
Why the removal of hyperspeed?
59 minute
Why Goth character creation, but no Gothic music?
1:01 minute
World band tour for single instruments? Not in the near future :(
1:02 minute
Leader boards information. Might be a way to link profiles with Rock Band
1:04 minute
Will country be included?
1:06 minute
Will HMX be able to make a DLC out of anybody's recording? Kick the pregnant woman??
1:07 minute
Rock Band 2? or just DLC downloads?
1:08 minute
Adding characters by DLC song?
1:12 minute
Multiplayer practice mode?
1:17 minute
Will there be a keytar in the future? Seems like NO! :D
1:19 minute
How did HMX get permission from Courney Love to get the whole Nirvana Album?
ANS: They throw some money and some some good stuff at her? LOL and it seems like that worked for Metalica too? LOL...!!!!
1:22 minute
What does Sean think about Guitar Hero 3??
1:28 minute
Shut outs..

It's KICK the pregnant woman. :D
This is a running joke on the podcast going back to episode 1 when Mark interrupted to say his unborn child was kicking for the first time. After some congrats he told us that he had kicked the pregnant woman out so there would be no further interruptions. Somehow that became the title of a song we were going to write. I guess SArmstr0ng will be making a Youtube video of it eventually.

I listen to a podcast with two guys hosting, and I still don't have any idea who is who. Does it really matter?
If you do care: the guy with the sexy, radio-host voice is Mark (BigSwifty), the fast talker/cackler/drummer is Sean (Phr34k), the drunk guy/singer is me (Rob), the guy with the calm voice that seems to be leading things is John (No1ButU), the slow/low-talker is Elliot (Toy Machine), the crude one is Jed, and the guy who sounds like he actually knows something is HMXSean.
