If you have a credit card that works with the US PS Store, you can get it, I've downloaded a good few tracks from it, otherwise you'll have to wait.

Cool, Can i access the US PSN store through my PS3 as normal or do i have to do something (change the settings) on my PS3:confused:.
I'm sure my credit card will allow the payment, just not sure if i can access the US PSN store. How did you do it? Does it do it automatically?

Sorry to dissapoint you, but if you haven't as US creditcard I'm pretty sure your creditcard WON'T work. Sony has updated the PSN, so that you can only use your US Account with a US Creditcard. You can create US Account easily but you won't be able to buy the DLC. Sorry.

Actually it may now be possible for PS3 owners in other countries to purchase American DLC. There's been a recent announcement that the PSN pre-paid cards are on the in-bound, so people can use these to make purchases once they go up for sale on eBay and other sources.

I think you will be able to download stuff, I live in Canada and have downloaded a bunch of the song packs already..as long as you have like a visa or master card, I think you're fine.

Yep, just read it a few days ago. Prepaid card for the USA are coming! With those it will probably be possible to buy the DLC with a US Account.

Hi wurrsmycash

I have created another user, when you have been asked for details, just use a US address; doing so you will be able to access the US psn store. To buy stuff, I have just used my visa electron. It works flawlessly, so far I have downloaded almost all of the packs, but as I said, sadly I will not be able to play it until ... well next year

cheers

When you added the credit card did you choose 'use different address'?
If so did you put in the real address of the card or your made up US one?

If you chose no then it should have checked the US address you entered against the card's registered address and failed as the card is (I presume) registered at your own address which is not US.

At least that's what it does for me.

I've managed to get it to accept a made-up US address with the same house number, street and city as my UK address but I reckon that the state and ZIP code are causing the match to fail. You can only enter a numeric zip code so I can't even try my UK postcode.

CBA to post it again but do a search on here for Prime Card, it is a pre paid mastercard available from UK newsagents. This is how I accessed the US store when my credit cards would not work. Not sure if they are available in Ireland tho.

As reported in many forums, the only current way for a UK user to purchase off the US PSN is to use a pre-paid mastercard such as that offered by IDT Prime, mastercard payzone. you can pick em up in newsagents.

they charge ALOT of commission and a card purchase fee (£3 to £7), but once you have this card type, you can load it up with cash then buy of the US PSN without any problems, as its an anonymous card type they cant verify it against the false us address you will have supplied as a UK/european resident wanting a S account.

You cant use most normal visa/mastercard debit/credit cards (unless you got it working before sony US tightened up its card checks), as the US PSN will want these verified against your 'false' US address.

end of story.

(Oh one thing, DO NOT register the pre-pay card against your non-US address, that will kill it as far as the US PSN is concerned)

So basically, buy the card from a newsagents, top it up (I'm guessing like a pay as you go mobile), but don't register to any address? and then away you go?

I went to check that site out but only found the game without the bundle pack, no guitar, no drums and no mic...

Did you bought this one or the bundle? what was the price?

Thanks

Just a note to all Europeans/Austrailians/etc. We can no longer use our credit cards on the American store, as Sony have rectified it recently. However, you can use wirecard (a virtual prepaid card that works internationally). Full info on the buying process are on this page:

I went to buy a IDT Prime card from my newsagents today. They said They only top up cards not supply them and I'd have to call them to be sent a card.

Do newsagents supply these cards or just top them up?

If I call up IDT Prime for a card - does this mean it will be registered at the address they send it to?

Way to go Sony. Anyone would think they don't want to win the console war.

If they weren't always taking their sweet time 'localising' content for other regions, we wouldn't have to keep pretending we live in the US.
