I love a lot of metalcore - it's tied with melodeath for my favorite genre. Deathcore, grindcore, and a lot of other metalcore (especially pre-2000) bore me. I'm pretty sure nintendocore isn't a real genre.

i enjoy my share of hardcore punk and it's various subgenres/crossovers (mostly pre-2000's), though i think it can make for some terrible crap when not executed well.

Nintendocore? I'll never be anything but totally baffled by the hair-splitting that occurs over genres. It seems like there are as many genres as there are bands nowadays, and two bands would really have to sound exactly alike to be put into the same genre.
That being said, I've noticed that KMFDM's more recent efforts are sometimes filed under "Metal/Grindcore" (by GraceNote for example.) I still don't have a clear idea what grindcore is supposed to be from all the things I've heard but whenever I read that in my mind I hear a thousand metal fanboys screaming "You morons! KMFDM is NOT metal!"

Core is the only genre i would choose R'N'B over and i hate all that terrible music! Man i dunno how people listen to core?! Its all so terrible and i am angry at the fact people get rich and famous from just making a mix of horrible sounds and squeling?! Its just injustice lol

Porno grind?
It's mostly tongue-in-cheek, but essentially take grindcore, sprinkle in some x-rated themes, throw in some gurgling noises/women climaxing and voila.

If record sales are any indication of artist wealth, the vast majority of core bands are not "rich and famous".

Generally, but it depends upon which "core" it is.
I like hardcore, grindcore, and noisecore. Nintendocore is so-so. I hate metalcore. Deathcore is hit-or-miss for me, usually miss. I'm not very familiar with most of the other "cores", e.g. spazzcore, hatecore.

If we're going to mention the "grinds", I would put my vote in for cybergrind. Berserker totally needs to be in RB if only to torture expert drummers. They should also throw in Cryptopsy (not grind...just saying) for the same reason. Or maybe not...

I love me some core music, deathcore is probably my favorite, Here Comes the Kraken definitely topping my list, my love for metalcore is also pretty huge and passionate.;)
Very nice choice throwing up Our Mexican Butcher instead of the dreadfully mainstream Sky Eats Airplane stuff.

I was going to type "actually good music", but I thought I would be nice just to put 'better". I still put in ATR's This Darkened Heart from time to time, but really the metalcore scene is dying.

Yeah, I like some metalcore. Though I'm more partial to reall post-hardcore, melodic hardcore, hardcore punk, emotive hardcore and so forth. I don't like grindcore at all. Metalcore that I've been known to listen to:
All That Remains
Botch
Converge
Destiny
Frontside
God.Fear.None
Index for Potential Suicide
Lickgoldensky
Living Sacrifice
Silent Civilian

I'm fairly certain that when someone directly says "better music", they're not saying it as their opinion, and either way, people need to realize that there is no such thing as "better" in music.

Maybe he was saying that it was better music in his opinion? Just because he didn't say it was an opinion doesn't mean it should be taken as fact.

Is it an assertive opinion, yeah. Heck, I haven't used "better music" in a sentence since I was 17. Even for me it seems like a very stupid opinion to have. Unless your saying it to someone who only listens to one genre or so forth...

i think some parallels could be drawn between all of these bands and converge (well, maybe not timebomb who were much more death and grind influenced), but they're hardly copies.
catharsis started out very similarly to integrity's "holy terror" period, only more dynamic and less likely to rip out a guitar solo. their 2nd album displayed total songwriting maturity (at least as far as you can go in the world of metalcore), as well as more influences ranging from black metal to post-rock to reggae. unfortunately, they would only release a few more tracks afterwards.
starkweather were a little more musically progressive than most early metalcore bands, oftentimes featuring quite intricate tribal rhythms and a very strong sense of emotion in their performances that stood out from their contemporaries.
integrity are the fathers of metalcore in my eyes. they put out their share of awful music, but when they did it right (humanity is the devil-era) they hit hard. such memorable guitar leads should appeal to more people...
deadguy was huge for me in high school. basically, it was like the perfect mix of metalcore and 90's noise-rock to my young ears.
timebomb were a fairly standard mix of somewhat "tough guy" straight-edge hardcore mixed with death metal, but done much better than anyone else at the time. they always seemed like they were on the verge of something a bit better, but they were the best we got from that particular formula.
cursed are one of the few modern bands i'm really excited about... a bit of a "core" gumbo featuring influence from sludge, crust punk, metalcore, and so forth.
check all these bands out. they're fantastic.

Eeeeeeeeh, I used to like Metalcore but then grew out of it into music that IN MY OPINION takes more skill and sounds different from one and other IN MY OPINION. My band just played a show that we were just added on to, and almost all of the other bands were Metalcore... I could not distinguish who was who though since they all sounded the same, I thought the band before us was over and was about to load in... and then realized there were still two more bands.
IN MY OPINION.

Back on topic, I love a lot of early emocore, hardcore punk, and a little grind core. Not huge on metalcore at all.
I dig a lot of real post hardcore bands as well.
