All right, Harmonix. Now that you guys are all established as The Big Guys in music game development, I think it's high time you returned to your roots. I'm talking about bringing in a sequel to FreQuency and Amplitude, the games that planted the roots of the Guitar Hero (and now Rock Band) franchise, but with dance music and trippy background videos. I've heard of a game in this vein called "Pulse" or something on iPod...perhaps we could, at least, see this as an XBLA/PSN download?
...Pwetty pwease? We'll even forgive you for the faulty guitars and give you cake!
And for those of you who never played FreQuency or Amplitude...here's a quick pic of the latter.

Yes, this is where it all began, folks...okay, technically, it began with the somewhat more primitive-looking FreQuency, but you get what I mean.

I too love FREQ and amplitude. However Sony owns the rights to the names. SO if they did do a sequel they'd have to change some things. I own pulse for my ipod and it is pretty much a psiritual successor to these games. But yeah a full sequel on the sonsoles would be cool. But really RB has been their dream game and unless MTV games wants to do it there's no chance.

What they could do is this...release a "third" sequel, call it something else (Decibel maybe?), give rights to both Microsoft and Sony, maybe Nintendo...and then put new songs on it, plus have some of the previous songs as bonus songs or something. Plus DLC...
Improve gameplay, still maintaining a classic appeal.
Improve graphics
Improve character design
Improve online play
If they wanted to, they could pull this off.

MTV owns Harmonix so wouldn't MTV choose who they work with? They chose to work with EA for Rock Band so maybe they could choose to work with Sony for a sequel? Should make it a PSN download.

Yea, it would be a PS3 exclusive most likely, considering Sony published the games.

which would suck for me since I'm not buying a ps3 for a few years.

Man, that would be awesome. I dunno if I would ever have gotten into GH or RB if it wasn't for Amplitude...half the reason I picked up the first GH to begin with was because it was by the same company.

i'll take one of those and a direct Parappa the Rapper/Um Jammer Lammy sequel please. i know they had nothing to do with the latter game series, but i'm dying for some more paper-dog-in-a-frog-beanie action.
seriously though, i'd pay infinite amount of dollars to play a PS3 version of freQ/Amplitude
edit: if you look at the notes in Amplitude, you definitely see early GH. lol!

For people saying to put this on PS3 or 360, theres no way in hell I would wanna play with triggers. It would throw your timing off and it wouldn't do the original games justice.

Anyone try to spin up Amplitude and play it with a Strat, yet? Now that they've put a D-Pad on the controller, it could be a very interesting experience...

The Les Paul doesn't work. I would guess the Strat wouldn't either for the same reason.

i also think this would be a fun idea, add a little extra flavor to it though, 4 buttons for each section, so u can play on the ps3 controller, with 4 of the 5 buttons on a guitar with the 5th button moving u, and with 4 buttons, people with drums would be able to play also and move with the kick pedal, just an idea, i actually dont see the game ever happening though even though i think it could be awesome
actually thinking about it...isn't this just basically rock band i came up with? lol, just that amplitude had trippier music, so it would be kind of like pop band? lol im just confusing myself now...

How would a Sony published game end up on the Wii?
