So I was listening to some music in my car and I ended up listening to a band I haven't heard in a long time. Cake.

Sort of an unusual band but the bassline is a lot of fun and the vocals wouldn't be too difficult.

The song most people would recognize is "The Distance" but thats more of a spoken word song.

There's "Never There" which would be an awesome song for this game.
"Satan is my Motor" is one of my favorite Cake songs.
"Walk on By" would also be a fun one.

There's lots of good songs that would be fun to play.. "You turn the screws", "Sheep go to Heaven..", "Friend is a four letter word"

You could go more on the bizarre side and go for an older one like "Mr. Mastodon Farm"

Its not the most hardcore band out there and if you want something in the Slayer genre, this isn't it. But there's a lot of Cake songs I would certainly be willing to shell out some xbox points for.

Rock and Roll Lifestyle is a must.

Amen, with Race Car Ya-Yas. I'd take anything on Fashion Nugget and Prolonging the Magic.

Total agreement!
Any song where the brass doesn't get the best parts would probably be best. :P

3 I'd love to see as DLC

Hem of Your Garment
Never There
Commissioning a Symphony in C

Cake... shows a very interesting type of rock. They are VERY talented and it would be great to see them on a DLC pack. I dont really have any song suggestions.... but ... i think its a must for ROCK BAND.

yeah, i just think they'd be great for something a little softer, a little sillier, maybe a bit easier. this would be in the realm of "fun" songs as opposed to only "challenging" songs.

plus, what other band does the singer get to use a vibraslap?

To everyone who's posted in this thread and to everyone who's going to: I love you.

I need CAKE! The reason I haven't posted this topic is because I wanted to see if anyone else was a fan of the band. Brew78, you made my day. :)

Also, it can probably said that I am one of CAKE's more hardcore fans. I'm not claiming to be the most hardcore, but I think this ranks me somewhere in the top:

i've often thought that the whole guitar hero style of information transfer would be extremely helpful in training for different things.

i mean.. i took piano lessons for 7 years when i was a much younger lad. i'm glad i learned how to read music, but at the same time, a guitar hero sort of interface would be REALLY nice to learn how to play something new. it would need a few dozen lines and a whole lot of pucks or bars or whatever the interface zooms towards you, but its a very visual way to see how a song is put together

all this being said, i'm not sure trumpet is really an instrument suited for that sort of learning.

I used to be a big Cake fan. Of course it would be great to see some of their work. Here's hoping.

Is that to say you no longer are? If not, what turned you off? Just wondering.
