Question about online play?

So im new here, and this question was probably asked before but when you play online with xbox 360 live for Rockband when comes out. Can you play other bands online? like a battle of the bands kinda thing or you just play with other members online as a team to complete the song. And also how can you lose in the game if you can always save your other bandmates? an answer from anyome would be helpful. Oh one more thing is this game coming out in November or december anyone know.

So far for online play they've announce co-op, join with others to form a band and play together, and head-to-head, battle against someone on the same instrument, like singer vs. singer or drums vs. drums. They haven't said anything about a band vs. band, I doubt it at this point, seems a bit too ambitious right now perhaps.

You can lose during a song if each band member eventually fails during the same song. If someone is failed out, one of the other band members has to nail a star power section to bring them back. If no one nails a section, then the failed member cannot rejoin the band, and eventually each member could fail w/ no one bringing them back.

They haven't said for sure whether it's december or november, but speculation is late november...

Thanks man, i really appreciate it. Wow this game looks like its gonna be the best real musical game ever and it kills guitar hero lol. Ive never been so pumped for a game, i wish it was out now I wanna play it!!!

Really? I never thought about that, but tournaments is a great idea, and battle of the bands would be sweet, this is definately something I hope they do. That will be so much fun!
