View Full Version : Is the Zune worth it?

I've got a few questions to people who own a Zune. I've been using my iPod, and I've been thinking about trying out a Zune for a chance.

1.) Are there any hidden drawbacks to it?

2.) How true is it to the "$15 dollars a month" clause?

3.) Does it have a lot of music or just a few basic well known bands and that's it?

4.) Does it have an iTunes-like program that I could play music freely on, and is that program (along with the Zune itself) last.fm compatible?

It was just a thought, but it seems promising from what the advertisements say. I have also learned to take everything with a grain of salt so....

Discuss!

1. not that Im sure of
2. to a certain extent, some artists (Metallica, RHCP, Eagles, etc) want you to pay for the full album, or most of their singles. Other than that you can just go in and download all of your songs by the album or just get singles
3. it has quite a lot of bands, though they could fix the genres (I dont think Id consider Stephen Lynch to be Rock n Roll)
4. if you mean limewire, yes. But you have to put the song in your "my music" file

so far Ive downloaded 6963 songs :)

So you can listen to your music freely in the main program. I still just need to know about the last.fm compatibility issue.

are you asking if you can export your songs onto Zune?

No, just if I can listen to the music on the main software-program thing and if it will work with last.fm.

And you can, for instance, "drag" songs from a shared music folder into your "My Music" folder and they would then go onto the Zune itself, amirite?

By the looks of it, it isn't compatible with last.fm. Yes, the Zune does have it's own software to listen to, and i'm pretty sure you can buy music from it too.

I don't own a Zune, but i do have the Zune Software. I need a Zune, badly!
