anyone on the free game from EA

so i got the ill get a free game from ea in an email on dec 1 and now its been 10 days and no word. whats going on? will i ever hear anything or do i have to call somebody. has anyone else gotten there free game or is evryone else in my postition.

I received a follow up email from them saying they are sorry for the delay.

The email also went on to say however that they are working on a list of titles that will be available for free. So at least this way, you're not getting a random game, you'll actually have a choice of which game.

I doubt it will be the full EA catalog, but having any choice at all is still better than just receiving a random game.

In my case, I was just pointed to the EA Store and asked to pick any currently available game there. I asked for NHL 08, and it was mailed out last week some time.

I don't see why not. It's available now, so you should be able to pick it. The only restriction I had was the game had to be available (for example, you can't select Burnout Paradise which is out in January). You can pick a game from any platform too.

Yep. I was asked if I wanted a PC version, and he was going to provide me a code just do a direct download. I opted to go with a PS3 game instead though.

People who ordered replacement guitars/drums within the first few days of the game coming out (11/20-11/22'ish) and did not receive them in a timely manner were offered a free game by EA, to make up for the delay in getting their new instruments.

Also people that bought the standalone game with no acceptable way to play it. I can't speak for everyone, but that's my situation, and I was offered the free game for my troubles.

Why would someone buy the game standalone if they believed there wouldn't be an acceptable way to play it?

I'd say it's far more likely he was planning to use it on the PS3 with a Guitar Hero controller, only to then discover it wouldn't work.

They didn't offer me a game but instead are sending me a second guitar. I would rather have that instead of the free game anyway. I've been waiting since nov 28th and the first replacement guitar they sent me went to montreal canada and i live in southern ca so for the wait they said they are sending a second guitar and when the one arrives from canada i get to keep it too. Pretty cool of them at this point i would say

I recieved ProStreet here for PS3, but I had to call and get a hold of an AMERICAN EA REP, it took a while, but if you end up getting connected to India, Manilla, Mexico, you probably won't get the correct help (been there and done that). Once I finally got a hold of someone in the US, my problems were solved !!! (2 guitars & a foot pedal)

I bought the game under the assumption that the Les Paul would work with the game. EA agrees with me that:

1) The Les Paul should work.

and/or

2) EA's own instruments should be available for sale.

They flat out told me the standalone game should not be on shelves right now because only being able to use the microphone is not an acceptable way to play the game.

Do you have a PS3 and XBOX 360? I know the PS3 doesn't work...but the 360 does work. I used mine while I was waiting for a replacement.

Well, I was "told" I'd be offered the free game. Then a week and one-half later I was told there was a "delay."

I'm still waiting on this free game offer to come through.

I understand it was as good will gesture, and I do appreciate that. But if you're going to offer something - be prepared. I've had 3 guitars thus far, the first took nearly 2 weeks to get Express and there's no follow-up on the free game situation.

Again, I'm appreciative of the efforts - though until I see some actual follow-through I'm also skeptical. I tried to bargain for a 2nd guitar instead and was flat out told no.

I just finally got a reply back. I've been waiting for my first replacement and I got an RMA 11/27. Heard nothing, nothing, nothing, emailed, still heard nothing, nothing then finally got a response today saying that it appeared my RMA hadn't moved so they went ahead and got me a new one. I responded back to them on the website that I think a free game is in order as I have been reading from others online at RockBand.com (I worded way more politely to them though). I'll let you know what I come up with. I working strat would be sweet though!

Orange Box says out of stock, but that could be because it's not out until tomorrow. I'm going to call them either tomorrow or the day after to ask for the Orange Box. They'd save me 60 bucks. Any other game would be no good since i have absolutely no interest in any other one of their games.

I haven't heard anything about the free game since i go the email this past weekend saying it was delayed, well at least my guitar is coming tommorow, 3 weeks from when I submitted my RMA. I'm pretty sure the orange box is out since I have been playing it
