Do you guys think it would be a good idea for Rock Band to put up a bands greatest hits album on the DLC? I mean you would get what would be considered all their best songs. I'm not sure if this would be better than getting an actaul album from a band.

Would you rather them put up greatest hits album or just a single album from a band? In some cases you might miss out on some great songs that aren't as popular this way.

They could put both standerd albums and best-hits albums, and your band can just choose which ones you want.

From a bussiness standpoint it's not a very good idea so I doubt they would.

Let's take GnR for an example.

This is their greatest hits album:

"Welcome to the Jungle"
"Sweet Child O' Mine"
"Patience"
"Paradise City"
"Knockin' on Heaven's Door"
"Civil War"
"You Could Be Mine"
"Don't Cry (Original Version)"
"November Rain"
"Live and Let Die"
"Yesterdays"
"Ain't It Fun"
"Since I Don't Have You"
"Sympathy for the Devil"

I really doubt there'd be many people that would buy Use Your Illusion 1 & 2 or Appitite for Destruction if they put that up. Also in this particular case there'd be an issue with lisencing as not all of those songs are theirs.

^Exactly.

That's why they shouldn't have best-ofs.

they plan omn putting out new DLC each week so they could eventually put up other albums by the same artist

I think that would be great! It'd probably cost a lot more money to download though.
