At my wedding, I walked down the aisle to the Imperial March played on a harp. :) We also played Front 242, the Cure, Lush, Strawberry Switchblade, and not a single Macarena or Mambo #5. We did play the ymca, though.

You just have to ask yourself, do I care what gramma wants to hear?

The Cure, "just like heaven" - when two of my friends got married they had everyone in the bridal/groom's party "donate" a favorite love song to a bride vs groom mix that they printed and gave out as the favor. Quite a few of the older folks/norms really enjoyed "just like heaven."
Also, my friend danced to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" at her wedding.
