Okay how come if I get a fill literally when a bandmate fails out that fill suddenly reverts back to the non-overdrive, preset, fill but the board still looks like a fill?

As fate would have it this happens to me all the time. This is when I need that fill the most!

As long as I'm not alone in this.

That happened to me once, and I had no idea what was going on. I assumed it was just a one-time glitch. If this always happens, then it's just plain bizarre. I can't imagine this effect was intentional in any way. Wonder how they could have even coded it so this was possible, and especially curious is how this got past all that testing from QA and all of Harmonix playing the game in their bands.

I think this is a tie in to the code that effects Overdrive usage when someone fails, but it's misfiring for some reason. For example, if I use my Guitar Overdrive and it's draining away, then suddenly my singer fails out anyway despite it, it will stop my Overdrive drain. This is a GREAT thing in this case because if I still have half a bar left, I can use it to save him.

Same thing happens with Drums, except for some reason the "Fill section" is somehow getting lumped together in this category. The player failing cuts you out of the section, in a weird way, to allow you to then use your energy on the next fill to save him. Almost like the first fill gets associated to a normal "activation", so it gets killed to make you go for the second Fill which will be a "Savior" fill.

Dunno how else to describe it, but that's my explanation. Hopefully they change how it works in the future, because this has bitten my band in the ass more then once.

Wow spork. That makes some sense. I wonder how (and if) they can fix this. This may just be the consequence of having so much going at once.

I haven't noticed this, I'll have to pay more attention the next time I play drums.
