View Full Version : Buying a replacement Rock Band 2 disk - got a couple questions.

We have RB2 for Wii. It's been periodically freezing in the middle of play but we just reset it and it's fine, normally. We hardly ever remove the RB2 disk because hardly anything else gets played on the Wii since we bought RB2. But, today, we decided to play Wii Fit. When I took out the disk I noticed it has a bunch of scratches or slight cracks or something shooting out from all over the center (the hole) of the disk....like when a child draws the rays coming off a sun.
First of all, would leaving the disk in the Wii (just turning the unit off but not taking the disk out) cause this? If not what could cause this? I'm trying to figure out the cause so it won't happen again.
Second, we play this a lot and I am figuring this is probably why it periodically messes up so even though it plays right now I plan to buy a new disk since it's obvious that something is wrong. I did see I could pay a fee and get a replacement (it's been over 90 days) but it's not going to end up being that much cheaper by the time shipping is paid and I have no idea how long it takes to get the replacement this way. So, I was just planning to buy a new one. My question is will all our DLC work with the new disk? And, will our game file transfer over to the new disk so that all the songs are unlocked and our characters/bands are the same and so on?
Thanks in advance.

There is no user data encoded on the disc. Therefore, all your DLC will work just fine with a different RB2 disc.

Thanks. I knew nothing encoded/saved directly to the disk. I just wasn't sure if it cross referenced to some sort of serial number or something. I know it is Wii console sensitive. I was hoping it wasn't sensitive to the disk itself. Sounds like it's not. So, that's great.
Thanks again.
