View Full Version : Wii Replaced: Can't Re-download Songs to SD

Hi,
I recently had my Wii replaced through warranty and need to re-download my songs to the SD card.

When I first bought the songs on my original system, after they downloaded, RB Music Store gave me an option to save the SD card. This worked great!

Now that I am re-downloading the songs on the replacement Wii, I do not get prompted to save them to my SD card. They default to Wii system memory.

I thought maybe I could just save them all to Wii then copy to SD card through the Wii console menus. The Wii system memory doesn't have enough room to save all of my downloaded content.

Is there a way in the Music store to select "re-download" and direct the songs to the SD card? Thanks in advance as this has been a big problem.

Regards,
Jsimpson4

When you pop RB2 into a Wii for the 1st time, I believe it prompts you to turn on or off SD card support. Sounds like this is the issue. Of course, your RB2 save data was obviously saved /transferred to Wii memory during the repair.

Now as to where in the game you would find that now? Don't know off the top of my head, but the owners manual must make mention of that.

Thanks! That's a start anyway.

I'll tinker with it and see what I can find. I sure would hate to have to delete my RB2 info then start over.

I had to delete (or start over) with RB2 save data early in when our power went out while the game was saving. Got the "data corrupted" msg afterwards. had to start out the Tour all over again!! Fortunatley, I had not progressed too far yet.

Nice thing about deleting save data, though - does not iradicate any DLC purchases. At worst, you just have to re-DL everything - time consuming, but free of charge.

Okay, sounded like a good suggestion there jwebb.

I deleted everything RB related on wii system memory. Started up RB2 and headed to the music store. I had to create a nickname before it would let me proceed. I made up a different one the I had before.

Tried to re-download a song that I had before and it downloaded just fine. But, it never asked me to save it to the SD card. It saved it straight to the wii system memory.

This is starting to tick me off now. Why won't it give me an option to save to my SD card? It seems like it used to ask me every time I downloaded a song before my wii stopped working!!

Any other suggestions? Anyone?

I was able to fix this problem. I deleted all RB2 data from Wii system memory and used a computer to reformat my SD card containing old RB2 DLC.

Once I did all of this and restarted RB2, it asked me if I wanted to enable SD card for DLC....or something similar.

Yeah, it stinks that I lost all of my old scores and game data, but I just used the unlock all songs code to start playing again!

I hope this helps you out. Please post the results you have.

I got a new replacement wii and I cannot download previous purchased songs. Each songs in the music store shows 200 and not purchased. How can I redownload songs I have already purchased on a new replacement wii.?

You have to contact Nintendo as your DLC is tied to your console. Since this is a new console it doesn't think you've purchased anything.

Only Nintendo can fix this.
