Hello ladies,

Many of you, including myself, have been having hardware problems with rock band. In this case the foot pedal on the drum set. I've had mine break twice on me in two different places. And have done some re-modifying of my own. If anyone has modified the foot pedal, post your pictures here :D

That's a great name for a band.

Does that mean your warranty is void? Or can you simply get a replacement and send that one back? If you're barefoot the metal looks like it would irriate your foot.

That's pretty dang awesome, Highlandlassie. If it's aluminum it would probably be nice and cool on your foot too. I'm dreading RB drumming March-October, when it's really hot. I already get pretty sweaty now and it's been really cool the last few weeks.

Forget the pedal -- the drumstick and cup holders are very cool!

Switchfoot,

I would bet money that your pedal is going to break again. Those little pieces of metal aren't going to cut it.

Here is a link to photos of my bass pedal mod (they are clickable).

I used 1/8" thick strips of zinc

I was thinking the same thing, that will only support the part that has already broken. Other people have had it snap higher up on it.

Bought one just for looks purely, I like having pretty shiny equipment.

I'm going to have to disagree. The headstock on my strat broke off and a thin strip of metal and two screws have held it in place for years without a problem.

Really.... well you dont' STOMP on your headstock 50 times during a 3-minute song with your entire LEG, do you?

Go ahead and try it if you have that much confidence in your two metal strips.

Use common sense, man!

No, but there also isn't tension going on either. Pressure and tension are two separate things. Metal doesn't like to bend, and even if it does, it's not going to break like plastic does.

Use common sense, man!

Highlandlassie has the best mod I've ever seen. Not the kick pedal but the cup holder. Do you get splashing when playing the kit? What is it made out of? i want one.
